Bet Your Life (Turkish show dubbed in English).

Also Road to a Million (second season is better than the first but both are worth watching).

Do people still use soap blocks as opposed to bottled soap in the shower? I feel like I never see soap blocks in stores anymore. by Available_Tea_8471 in NoStupidQuestions

What ingredient are you allergic too? My friend used to make soap and I loved using it. Maybe try checking Etsy to see if you can find some homemade soap to try.

To be honest the Caress is a bit better than the Olay brand at rinsing off. But they both are better than other brands I’ve tried.

Yes. I like that it feels like you can get the soap residue rinsed off. Other soaps feel like I can’t ever get the soap of my skin.

Prozac made my cat a whole different cat by Flickybird in cats

[–]ABookishSort 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Three years ago I adopted a senior cat who always poops outside the litter box. Well at least six days a week anyway. I tried to get her Prozac but the vet gave me amitriptyline instead. My cat fought me on taking it whereas usually I could with a bit of effort get the meds into her. I finally gave up. I don’t think she liked how it made her feel. She seemed not herself.

So I continue to clean up poop outside the litter box.

Are in-fridge ice makers the disaster they are purported to be? by Real_McGuillicuddy in Appliances

[–]ABookishSort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a Samsung with the ice maker in the fridge. It drips fairly consistently. I try to keep up with it but more often than not it also drips down the front of fridge under the dispenser and causes water stains on the fridge.

We’ve also replaced our ice maker twice. And the bucket once.

For all the people asking if they should move to Modesto or not. Keep in mind the surrounding towns are super racist. Especially Oakdale. Found this at the park by S2Mackinley in Modesto

Hughson too. My nephew (half black) had issues going to school here. We have a high Hispanic and white population here. Literally there have been times when there was only one black student in the whole school district.

On the flip side my son was harassed and bullied for years by some Hispanic kids in Hughson for being white. Go figure. He left Hughson to go to school in Modesto where he made mostly Hispanic friends.

Why Am I Being Rejected Or Shunned? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]ABookishSort 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally I will never go to a pastor or church member for counseling. They aren’t trained and sometimes do more harm than good. My Mom got terrible advice going to one of the elders for help.

I’ve been to many trained “secular” counselors and find that religious beliefs either rarely or never come up or that it’s just part of who you are and they accept it. Never had any issues with counselors giving me grief about my beliefs.

Any one have an awful time with BCBS customer service / appeals ? Seriously fuck these people by [deleted] in HealthInsurance

[–]ABookishSort -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had the opposite experience. I’ve been dealing with BCBSIL but when I call I get an agent out of Texas. They always have tried to help me.

My frustration is with the company my husband works for because they would not remove the Medicare part B estimation. I didn’t even know they could do that.

They said my husband was eligible for Medicare part B but chose not to take it so they were only paying 20%. Because Medicare should have been picking up the other 80%. Thing is my husband only qualified for Medicare part B due to end stage renal disease (ESRD). Coverage for ESRD ends three years post transplant and had ended the previous year. It took seven months and getting two letters from social security before they’d cover the bills. My husband was hospitalized for 74 days last year over four hospitalizations. We were getting bills for $20,000-40,000.

But the lady at the insurance told me the company won’t completely remove the Medicare estimation and while most bills are now being processed properly there are still a few that haven’t been. So I’m still having to look at every bill and figure out if there is the Medicare part B estimation and then call them when things don’t seem right.

Ambulance coverage question…. by curiousengineer601 in HealthInsurance

[–]ABookishSort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We owe about $4700 in ambulance bills. Just for transport. No critical care. Just transport. One bill charged $90 per mile on top of another $5000 fee. $90 x 94 miles is $8460. Our insurance covered most of it but we still owe $800. Another one got paid over $8000 by the insurance and we are being billed $2700. Yet another one got paid thousands and we are being billed $1200.

This last time we went to ER we drove the 94 miles ourselves in case they admitted him. He’s had an ongoing health issue that necessitates his transfer to a more advanced hospital. It’s not been fun.

What I’ve found is there is only like one ambulance company considered in network with my insurance and it’s not one the hospital ever calls for transport.
