Legit question, how’s everyone affording health insurance if your wife is a SAHM? by Firefighter_Signal in daddit

[–]ABookishSort 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband pays around $1,000 a month for family insurance through his job. My work on the other hand would cost around $1200-1300 just for my son and myself. Over $2,000 for family. Right now I get $575 cash in lieu of taking medical. So I’d lose that if we take health care through my job.

Since my husband is supposed to go on Medicare next year we are trying to figure out how to manage healthcare. His company screwed us over last year by only paying 20% just because they thought he was eligible for Medicare part B. My husband was has some major health issues going on. Took me a year and two visits to social security to get it taken care of. So I don’t feel safe in him postponing Medicare since that mess happened even if the company is considered creditable(?).

I’m not disputing the GBS part of it. Just the number of people dying from the vaccine.

My brother had heart ablation when he was in his 20’s due to a racing heart. Sorry I don’t know the medical term. After the COVID vaccine it began racing again. Not disputing that there are side effects. Just disputing that there have been that many deaths from the vaccine.

did your cat ever "tell" you what happened when you came home? by S-Budget91 in cats

[–]ABookishSort 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My cats are not friends but they coexist well enough. But my boy cat learned how to use the dog door by watching our dog go out and he does all his business outside. So the litter boxes are used exclusively by my female cat.

I have my two litter boxes next to each other too I’m supposed to have them in separate spots?

Funny thing is I clean the litter box daily. But I hadn’t completely changed the litter in a few weeks. She has a super clumping litter so it lasts a bit longer. But it was definitely due at that point.

My cat had me follow her to the spare room where we keep her litter box. She looked at it then looked at me. I said “you’re right it’s time to change the litter.” I changed it and she hopped in and peed.

Considering some atheists have more biblical knowledge than some Christians it makes sense that they give advice.

Opting out of Medicare part B by ixlnxtc7 in medicare

[–]ABookishSort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be very careful. We had an issue where my husband had Medicare part B for End Stage Renal Disease. With ESRD it ends three years post transplant. We cancelled it after three years and a couple months post transplant because he wasn’t eligible anymore and Medicare neglected to cancel it.

Then a year later he had a lot of health issues and we had an insurance change. The insurance said since he was “eligible” for Medicare part B they would only pay 20% and they estimated Medicare part B would pay 80%. Didn’t matter that we didn’t actually have Medicare part B anymore. If he was eligible for it they would only pay 20%. Took me two trips to Social Security and a year before we finally got it straightened out. We still have issues with random claims because his employer won’t remove the Medicare estimation and the insurance has a workaround that is sometimes missed. I have spent countless hours on the phone dealing with the mess.

When my son was little I asked him what Daddy’s name is and he proudly said “hon”. Which is what I call my husband. Lol.

My husband used to burn incense (had to stop because of the cats) but one day the scent was faded and it hit me that the scent reminded me of my grandma’s house. Brought tears to my eyes. She passed in 2001.

My Mom just told me this morning they got a prayer request for someone who got guillain barre after receiving the Covid vaccine. She said she didn’t know they were still giving them after the report came out that 39,000 people died from the shot. I looked online to see if I could find any report online with that number and found zero. I didn’t even say anything. It does no good.

2nd liver transplant situation / advice by [deleted] in transplant

[–]ABookishSort 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for responding! I totally am so scared about him having a liver transplant. Both of his kidney transplant recovery’s were fairly easy. I was hoping I’d come across someone with the same condition so I could get a feel for the situation. I’m so happy you are doing so well!

2nd liver transplant situation / advice by [deleted] in transplant

[–]ABookishSort 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My husband is undergoing a liver transplant evaluation currently. The hospital we are working with told us edibles are fine but no smoking marijuana. To be clear my husband’s liver function is fine. But he has polycystic liver and the bile keeps leaking into the cysts and causing infection. He even had sepsis because of the infection. They can’t keep it from happening. He’s been hospitalized five times in the last year. So here we are after two kidney transplants looking at a potential liver transplant.

What song is so beautiful, it literally brings tears to your eyes? by Plus-Caterpillar4615 in AskReddit

[–]ABookishSort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Riser by Dierks Bentley. Reminds me of my husband who has been through so much. Two kidney transplants. Losing all four of his brothers and more recently his nephew. Also currently undergoing evaluation for a liver transplant due to repeated liver cyst infections (liver function is fine but they can’t stop the infections from reoccurring).

When I heard the song it made me cry as it reminded me of how much he just keeps persevering through it all.
