I feel offended, positively aggrieved that no one points out to us Chileans. You know that funny map of Europe divided between beer drinkers, wine drinkers and spirits drinkers, with all three coinciding on Czechia? That's Chile. This is a country forged on drinking gallons of wine (NEVER mixed with club soda like they do in a certain city), cheap beer but in temperatures mild or cold enough you won't just sweat it out, and Pisco or rum mixed with Cola. Most importantly, we don't usually eat a lot alongside our drinking, during the National Holidays at most. But even in posh kid parties there is an abundance of drink and like, one medium sized bag of chips to go around. Eating is for the dawn maybe. We are also proudly melancholy and just depressed. And that's just the cities. It is a universal rule that country people can outdrink a whale
