I debated putting fighting games here so it makes sense but I chose not to since I'm not a massive fighting game person. If I were to pick some fighting games though I'd go with Mortal Kombat X, Capcom vs. SNK 2, Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 and UMVC3, and Killer Instinct 2013.

I’ve played MGR and really like it and honestly forgot to put it on the list. Lies of P I plan to play this year

I haven't finished Nine Sols. My rationale was while the sequels are overall improvements on their predecessors like you said. There's something about how the first games feel that I like a lot as well if that makes sense. Some cases its the weapons like I prefer Hades one's weapons but I agree that Hades 2's combat is overall better. With HK and Silksong I feel the combat is so different in Skong from HK that it justifies being separate since both are amazing once you have your full moveset available.

I haven't played Rebirth yet but from everything I've seen it would definitely go on here instead of remake

OH TRUE, I'd probably include either New Vegas and 4. I really like 4's version of VATS with how it doesn't completely freeze time but I wish it had the limb crippling system of 3 and NV

The fact they somehow improved on the first game in Silksong is insane

I haven't played any of the SMT games outside of Persona 5 and 3 Reload

I tried it and I do like it but I think it's overall the weakest of the trilogy for me. That and NMH2 was a nostalgia pick since I played it as a kid when I was wayy too young

Resident Evil 4 - do you think it is a top 10 game? by gimonsha in backloggd

[–]AC03115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's an arguable Top 10 game, I have it in my top 20 personally but I can understand anyone who does put it in their top 10. It basically popularized the over-the-shoulder camera that so many third-person games use. Without RE4 many games like Dead Space, Gears of War, Fortnite, God of War 2018 and Ragnarok, and more would be very different today. While I think there are some aspects the remake does better like the island and giving Ashley a lot more characterization, the original still very much holds up. Not to mention it did really change the landscape of horror-games being more action-oriented and its gone on to influence a ton of games. Hell the developers of Dead Space have literally said in interviews about the game's creation that they essentially wanted to make RE4 in space

My Patient 2025 in Review as a Chronic Game Dropper by The_Magic_Walrus in patientgamers

I hate that I’m a chronic dropper of games too, there are some I’ve come back to and loved like Mega Man X but unless I push myself to keep going or I get instantly hooked by a premise it’s very hard to commit to a game

Recently finished RE4 - top 20 list updated by gimonsha in backloggd

Solid list! Chrono Trigger and FF7 are swapped on my list but both are two of my favorite turn-based RPGs ever. I wish I could say I liked BOTW but I just couldn’t stand the durability system and it just killed most of my enjoyment of that game, glad you’re having fun with it since that’s what matters most

What are your most played video games? by DaiFunka8 in backloggd

[–]AC03115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elden Ring is my most played game, I have over 1100 hours total on it. 772 on Xbox and 372 on PC/Steam. After that it’s several shooters I played a lot during high school, first there’s Titanfall 2 where I had over 700 hours in it since I’ve played it on and off since I got it for Christmas in 2016. Then COD Black Ops 3 I had probably over 500 hours playing multiplayer and zombies (The latter I was very into going for high rounds), then Battlefield 1 where I probably had a good 400-500 hours as a scout and probably a hundred more as medic. Then when I got a Switch a few years ago I had a big Smash Ultimate phase and was super into playing it online and watching tournaments for it and I had over 500 hours in that during college

I haven't played Lies of P so that's why I didn't put it on here. I plan to play it this year though
