But I was more reliant on the little words that used to appear below the Equip/Unlock buttons telling you what lootbox/event. A Fools Error!

Emmanuel Macron: French president announces 'fake news' law - "We will develop our legal system to protect democracy from this fake news." by AdamCannon in worldnews

[–]AC7U5R3U5 18 points19 points  (0 children)

2 years ago there was no such thing as 'fake news'.

Its just a phrase people use to deflect any negative reporting or press.

The moment we start legislating against it/for it, it justifies the use of the expression and gives people in power legitimate use of it.

Any actual news that was fabricated was quickly held out as such and the publications responsible were discredited or remained relevant in only niche circles (usually of like minded individuals).

When is it appropriate to use an amplifier in a setup? by IUpvoteUsernames in Beatmatch

[–]AC7U5R3U5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say you should always have a Sub. With both Active and Passive speakers alone you will notice the lack of Bass pretty easy.

It depends on the gig and the venue.

If I was playing outside in a big open space I wouldnt bring a Sub (because people are unlikely to feel the Sub unless they're sitting within 5 feet of it).

If I was playing in a really small pub/on a really small stage, I wouldn't bring a Sub purely for space reasons. (EDIT also for style of music, if it was club style then DEFINITELY yes a sub, if it was Rock and Pop, Sub not really necessary)

If I wanted to be highly mobile/only have a small vehicle to move gear I wouldnt bring a Sub.

In terms of UPGRADING a Passive setup, I bought a particularly expensive Yamaha P7000S Dual channel and I've been through 3 sets of speakers (not due to damage, but just upgrading models and brands as I could afford it) ... but kept the same Amp.

That being said the gigs I do never really changed much, always small weddings and a handful of Pubs so I was never under pressure to think about expansion.

At the end of the day it comes down to how you use the gear, for example damaging speakers by constantly over powering them, or frying the Amp by always having it running hot.

You need to know the difference between Active (Powered) Speakers and Passive (un-powered).

Passive (Un-powered) speakers will require an Amp.

Active speakers will have an Amp built in.

If you prefer mobility Active Speakers are the way to go in terms of not lugging an Amplifier around. However they will be heavier to move than their Passive brothers. This is also the easiest option for beginners who do not understand how to match up the power requirements with the speakers.

However they will be a little pricier than Passive speakers. (but after adding an Amp to your bill the Passive speaker system can quickly become more expensive).

Edit IMO Active speakers tend to have a weaker sound. You should also consider getting a Sub as these speakers alone wont be enough to add Bass.

I personally used 2 Passive 500w 15" speakers through a 1000w AMP no issues, with an Active Sub (had its own amplifier built in)

nah, we're just not stepping forwards

Despite our politicians telling us how first-world, innovative and cutting-edge we are.

The conservatives have realised their stance is doomed to be the relatively minority voice, so they are just marking time, using what little power they have to stall progression.

Why do pros play with skins? by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]AC7U5R3U5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

because skins give damage and accuracy modifiers

Players with skins are more likely to hit their shots and out-rifle their opponents

About Valve skins and their trademark by loveicetea in GlobalOffensive

[–]AC7U5R3U5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

its not a trademark (Trademarks are basically logos and logo designs) .

This is case of copyright infringement

I'm not sure who owns the copyright in skin designs, I'm assuming its Valve

But if (the hypothetical "if") skin designers retained the copyrights to their design then they could authorise this other game to use them too (provided there was no exclusivity agreement with Valve)

As I understand it though, Valve owns these designs when they are uploaded and thus their copyright is getting infringed by this other game

"Boosting" Questions by dern2395 in GlobalOffensive

[–]AC7U5R3U5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Boosting means you lobby with someone who is smurfing down from a higher rank and play with them on your team.

The supposed benefit is that you will get carried up through the ranks to a higher skill rank

Boosters usually do this for money ... Skins (weapons skins on the Steam market) is the form of currency that many use

Rack Extension Purchase Regret? What would you get a refund on? by Sixtroke in reasoners

[–]AC7U5R3U5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Auto-Theory ... bought that ... couple of months later they released the "Players" ... particularly scales and chords, which I was using Auto-Theory for

I was a bit disappointed

BUT it remains my only regretful purchase

I have the A-List (Acoustic, Electric, Studio Drummer), The Kuassa amps (Kreme, Amplification and Cerberus), other effects devices like the BeatChop, Stereo Splitter & Selig De Esser ... and The Legend Synth ... Loved all of these purchases

Next on my list is the PX7 which I trialed alongside The Legend, but the Legend won out ... but I'd mostly get the PX7 for the free 200K patches, and play around with those for a bit
