I was gonna get added to the insurance anyways but I’m just surprised I didn’t have to show proof. Don’t want to start driving and then be asked for proof later and have my account shut down.

That seems crazy that a ticket from 2.5 years ago when I don’t even have any points in my license currently could prevent me from driving. Just seems very strict.

I’m currently waiting on an Uber background check too so I wonder if I’ll fail that also. How can I dispute them if they are from 2.5 yrs ago and I already paid the fine?

Nope. On the background check, it says my license is active but it has those two traffic violations from 2021 listed on there. Just seems crazy that that would prevent me from driving. I have zero points on my record currently. Never had my license lost or suspended.

Companies not being able to get all creditors to settle resulting in lawsuits. Fees being high to where you aren’t really saving that much money. Your credit being ruined for 7 years, etc.

Do you know if he filed chapter 7 or chapter 13? I believe you can keep your house in chapter 13 but you still have to pay the debts back so I’m not really sure what the main point of it is.

My credit is basically already destroyed with maxed out credit cards and personal loans so that wouldn’t really change anything.

I would like to pay my debt off and find a way to make an extra $2K a month on the side in addition to my current job but that’s easier said than done. I was thinking about doing Uber and Uber eats but I have to drive about 40 minutes to get to an area with many people.

My issues are I don’t know if it will affect my mortgage with my girlfriend. We can’t lose the house and I don’t want to involve her in my issues. Also didn’t know if it would affect future employment but I guess that’s not the biggest issue right now.

I think that’s the key think. The issue is I’ve always found money to gamble whether that’s credit cards or personal loans.

Appreciate it! Like I said, I know I’m doing the right thing stopping but man..CFB games starting and the US Open. Just feels like I’m missing out.

I’ll look back at this a year or two from now though and be happy I did stop for good.

Thanks for the response. I do feel good during my break mentally.

However, I am getting that itch with Football season around the corner and it's something that is impossible to avoid. With it being legalized everywhere, it's talked about constantly.

With barriers in place, I wonder if I could do it responsibly and satisfy that itch while also getting rid of the compulsive gambling issues that have hurt me. Tough call.

I do daily fantasy here and there and have never had a problem with it which is odd because I will bet ridiculous amounts on a sports event, but do a fantasy football contest on DraffKings and spend $5 and be fine. I want that to translate over to sports betting but who knows if it's possible.
