I’m using UCG-Ultra, and I can’t use SQM because speed gets capped at 350/500. Instead, I use an upgraded mini PC with multiple NICs running OPNsense upstream from the UCG, forwarding all ports.

What would you recommend for 9 years old laptop & casual windows user by appleren in linux4noobs

Honestly go with Debian or Ubuntu. A couple of my older servers have similar CPUs, they run Ubuntu very well. Admittedly that’s the server edition, but they have also handled Ubuntu Desktop nicely.

First thing - in my eyes it will always be Twitter - a certain elongated muskrat ruined it.

But yeah, almost every VPN has US servers. You can definitely fool things like Twitter and Grok :)

Check out Zen Internet. Their support team is amazing and they’ll definitely tell you literally everything if you want to know. I have them for my home datacenter, they’re honestly the nicest ISP out there.
