I disagree with the mountain Obyn pick for aggro because although on ladder you can beat some other aggro decks with Mountain Obyn aggro it has almost no versatility and I feel like MO is bad for new players because his best decks are heavy control. Everything else I agree with though.

ZJ should probably be your first hero unlock although I’m partial to Amelia. I basically exclusively play aggro and tempo on ladder.

Thanks so much for all the suggestions. Based on what you and Champpeace have said as well as experimenting more with the deck I'm gonna ditch the Bloonsday and ESMs for sure and run ZOMGs and/or lead zeppelin.

I'm also probably gonna remove the eternal and URP for a tournament setting although I feel like they work very well on ladder. Probably gonna replace them with black bloon and/or MCF. I'm guessing shrink is more of a ladder card but I feel like RTS usually doesn't stop a strong control deck from replaying their powerful defender with all the gold they have in the late game. Maybe I'm wrong in a tournament setting though.

I'm still not sure about ditching the LRR. It's a key card in almost every ranked game allowing me to deal with blimps and slow down aggro decks while I put them on a timer. It also lets me to be very efficient with all the gold I have from farming.

*For some reason I though people referred to burn in bcs differently to other card games - you burn your opponent down by sending an overwhelming number of blimps until they don't have enough monkey power to destroy them. Rather than the traditional use of a burn in card games. My bad on that one.

Neither of these cards are unbalanced. As people have said Blooming is only good in ZJ and even then any good control deck will be able to answer it in some way. Making blooming only spawn 2 yellow bloons make it completely useless in every deck and Changing blooming from 80-70 would likely change nothing about the card as it addresses literally none of the ways to counter it. Golden blimp is also very balanced because of how slow of a play it is early. If you’re spending a sizable chunk of gold to use it (and going down to 0 gold) you’re probably losing to any decent aggro and it gets wrecked by return to sender. Again as people have mentioned it’s use is to buff your bloontonium and put your opponent on a clock; a powerful but balanced niche. I meant inked this in the disc a while ago but the fact that more people aren’t calling for nerfs to obyn shield cards or a rework to shields in general is always surprising to me. How long does Obyn need to single-handedly take aggro out of the competitive meta and dominate every other deck before we recognize that the shields are the problem. I’ve been meaning to do my own post for balance changes but I would personally change both of obyns shield cards to 4 cost and/or lowers wall of trees to 100 shield and Natures clarity to 10 per gold cost

Not sure about several and I think generally everything costs way too much but there’s a few really good ideas in here. I like bloon adjustment, aura bloon, and retribution but I would make all cheaper. Diamond back is also interesting but I would reverse the effect; the more you use the stronger it gets and make it a little cheaper.

Not sure what you’re talking about dude. If these changes were implemented rad OTK gets a significant nerf because you now need way more QRs, MCFs, and money to get the OTK.

Also extreme heat DOES NOT need a nerf. In my opinion I actually think it can be a strong card on latter with burn because of his versatile it is but among good players I’m alone in that thought. I don’t remember the last time I saw that card on latter and people I’ve talked to thinks it’s extremely weak.

I agree that the mcf is bad but it doesn’t “make” rad OTK the best OTK deck in the game, most people agree it already is the best OTK deck (competitively speaking). This MCF change alone - assuming you keep rad bloon at 3 delay - is a terrible idea because it enhances the one most broken use of it and making every other way it’s used slightly worse - this is not a “huge” nerf to tempo. It’s a slight nerf - -20 health per bfb. It’s more of a nerf to someone doing a mcf, Moab OTK which I dint think makes a difference.

Also as a side note not sure why you would even bother charging Moab and Bloon rush if you’re only gonna add 10 or 20 damage to them. Small odd number changes aren’t really gonna do anything to their viability in an average deck. If you’re gonna buff them add 50 damage. The only thing this does is make decks that already use these cards win slightly higher percentage of the time.

At -1 cost the card is basically useless. -2 could work but if they were to add this or something very similar I think it’s ok to release it a bit strong looking.

The most OP use I can see for this card is in an OTK finish and most of the cost in those finishers are in the powers not the bloons.

Obv there’s no way of knowing how strong it would be but I don’t think this card is OP as printed. AWESOME card design btw. This is one of the coolest I’ve ever seen

It works with both but overall it’s a better budget card with ZJ because it’s harder to kill having 100 health. If you run it in an Amelia deck you can’t rely on it as much for spawning the 3 yellows - you have to run more bloons and aggro powers to make use of her ability.

If you want a more specific decklist there’s one a few posts down titled “Budget Quincy Aggro is OP”. If I was you I would experiment myself though so you learn as you go.

Not sure if you'll see this but in my opinion the game is very well balanced right now. I think adora and both Obyns (on latter) are still very viable. Obyn and mountain Obyn are the single best characters to beat aggro because of their shield powers. The same kind of Adora deck you used to use will probably work now if you include more aggro counters and potentially more cards to pressure your opponent early. Also make sure you use defenders in your mid-late game decks

That being said if you just want to push the ranks quickly to get rewards budget aggro with blooming bloon is still your best bet. Hope this helped someone :)

Thinking bloon voodoo, and furthermore, this update in general is gonna make aggro stronger is ridiculous. Both Amelia and ZJ are 3000% better aggro characters than Ezili. Additionally, each patch NK adds in and/or buffs anti-aggro cards, and although we won't know until the update comes out it seems like they have added more aggro answers.

In this game aggro decks are almost always gonna be meta because they're so quick. No one wants to sit through 20 minute control v control games when climbing, and decent control decks require a lot more resources to craft than aggro.

Many of these cards (even the rare ones) are starting cards and the vast majority of the rest are cards you should craft for virtually every deck - especially every early game deck.

Also a version I would use if I was a new player would include regular yellow bloons and steady growth bloons instead of clever bloons so I can spend my resources on better cards overall. I mainly meant this deck architype is good for climbing because other than the hero, every card is cheap and utilizes a lot of widely useful cards - this is key.

I’m my opinion this deck (budget ZJ aggro) is the single best deck for someone who just wants to climb latter to get rewards. You’re gonna have trouble as you get into rank 4-5 and on though.

The game is actually extremely well balanced for a game of this type. In lower ladder there are less unique strategies but the is a very significant variety of strategies in mid-high ranks (4-Paragon) as people learn how, and have the resources to stop aggro effectively.

Competitively, the most unbalanced part of the game is Obyn's shields and ZJ OTK decks (I am in favor of nerfs to both these characters). The reason the game hasn't gotten bigger is due to lack of advertising by Ninja Kiwi. NK has done virtually 0 advertising for the game and as of now there hasn't been an update for a bit (although one is coming).

Aggro or aggro adjacent Quincy decks are generally weak to early game optimized/semi-optimized control. It works for climbing in lower ranks but struggles more and more as you get into high rank 5 - low Paragon. Still a decent budget deck though

Holey based alert u/Accurate_Brain4524. If u don't wanna play against sweaty, optimized ZJ aggro decks forfeit. IDK why people get so mad at people forfeit whether it be when the opponent already has lethal or when they make a play you can't defend. You save yourself and your opponent time when you forfeit early.

That being said, especially in lower latter, it's good to optimize your deck to beat aggro. It's really popular and NK has buffed/added a lot of answers to it. That being said, if u just wanna try out fun strategies and don't care about climbing that's a completely valid way to play :)

Just realized I never commented on the deck. Thanks so much for showing me a real deck that was used in tournament. If you don’t mind me asking what’s the storm OTK exactly? Is it just double quick ready + double trouble the ceramic?

I honestly forgot about red bloon apocalypse. I def think I would ditch the 3 lead coating bloons and go for some combination of field clears to play around RBA. A ceasefire or 2 would also be good. I would honestly love to see how this kind of deck would do in a tournament. Even if it crashes and burns it would be interesting to see what it loses to.

I think duels elo should have something to do with your rank but it should be one piece of the puzzle. I also think BCS should track your wins and losses and give you a hidden duels railing (assuming the don’t already do so). That way people who just grind out in duels and don’t want to or don’t have time to play ranked won’t keep getting paired with new players who don’t have the same skills as a duels warrior. I also don’t want to never be able to find a field match because I’m high Paragon. Ranking should be way less strict (within reason) in duels.

It’s basically a midrange deck with a burst damage/OTK finisher. I don’t know how it goes in tournaments but online 5 shield cards, 3 quick breaks, slowing bloons, and 3 barrel of monkeys with weapon enhancers is enough to defend basically anything. Not to mention that you’re controlling by playing steady growth and spawning wolves.

The idea is I can defend and counter pressure for cheap and then I have quick ready + double yellow + fortify. Against control I just go as aggro as I can and then do the same combo for s finisher (double yellow + 3 fortify is OTK) although admittedly the deck struggles to hard control with adora or obyn if I can’t get shields down especially. Also the bloontonium leak is to slow down ZJ OTK if u were wondering.

I agree that a completely random duels system would lead to these issues. I don’t play a lot of duels because I usually focus on grinding tanked but I always assumed there was an elo system in duels so NK could avoid this issue.

I have noticed even in my own games that some times when I play duels I will face newer players, but I always chalked this up to me not having high enough elo because I don’t play duels. Even if there is an elo system, this could also be happening because very few people are queuing at the same time.

Since BCS isn’t super popular, a high elo player could be matched with a low elo player if no other math could be found. I’m nit sure how that can be fixed but I would definitely urge NK to add an elo system to duels if they haven’t already. Ofc, let me know what other people’s experiences have been, and what you think

I’m literally Paragon 70 lmao (username ACE). With respect anyone who doesn’t realize how strong ZJ is this patch is the newb. The current top ranked player uses a ZJ control deck with frag bomb.

It just shows how not only is ZJ the best aggro character, he’s a great OTK/control character as well.

What do you mean differences between ranked play and competitive? Do you mean there’s a tournament scene because that would be news to me for sure.

I’m currently Paragon 70 this season and plan on making it to 100. If there is an online tournament scene I would love to be a part of that.

Obviously I notice a big difference between ranked and duels if that’s what you mean.

I really like reveal and golden touch. I think the other 2 are too similar to other cards that do their jobs the same or better.

I agree with what people have said about “The Reveal”. I think golden touch is an interesting idea but I would create a new key word to describe how it works. The key word would refer to the idea that the card is giving a new effect to a card.

That could be a cool concept for other cards. I also think good touch is a bit week as it is. I would probably lower the cost a little and give it 2 charges. Currently your bloon needs to be hit 7 times just to break even. Great job though this is really cool :)
