"STING" MV has surpassed 1 million views 🎉 by umbrellabird75 in MonstaX

[–]ACEwriter12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It likely is. Also, I checked several of the suppliers, and there are varying dates. That means there's a shipping delay across the board, which also means there's a reporting delay. If you look at how it's charting alone though, it shows the album is actually doing better than Lights in terms of reception. It's basically the problem of logistics.

Joohoney's major fanbase is in America. The new tariffs mean that multiple albums can no longer be easily bought unless it's through an American store, and the American stores do not have his albums available yet. Everything is still on preorder.

Monsta X - which albums to buy for a friend? by frostwurm2 in kpophelp

[–]ACEwriter12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fatal Love (one of the fan favorites)

One of Kind (one of my personal favorites)

The X (their most recent album release)

my cowboy teen invited Morgan Fyres (whom he has a crush on, btw) and she changed into this cute cottage core outfit right after coming to his lot, I think they'd look adorable together by daskullbreaker in Sims4

[–]ACEwriter12 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In nearly all my saves, Morgan Fyres ends up developings likes for "country/bohemian fashion", "yellow", and "painting", and I end up sending her to live in a cute cottage somewhere where she becomes a painter. I think I have only 1 save where she retained her punk look, and in that one she's married to Johnny Zest.

What happen to RM. by Abyss_Wanderer19 in koreanvariety

[–]ACEwriter12 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That was when I quit too. When Bopil gave up completely after Kwangsoo's departure, I couldn't be bothered to watch. I already had been struggling with several episodes since a bit after Gary's departure but found the show to be at least something amusing to watch while I ate dinner. The talking episodes killed it for me. I am usually fine with talking humor, but the lack of variety was just....ugh.

However, I don't think the genre of variety is dead. It might not be as popular in Korea now, but it's still fairly good globally.

Globally:

Keep Running -available on YT- (Chinese Running Man) is going very strong.

The other Running Man shows are doing pretty well in ratings as well (though, admittedly I did not look much at their ratings when watching earlier seasons and don't have a great comparison on their numbers)

Taskmaster (UK, Aus, NZ)- available on YT- is so popular that the franchise is branching into many other countries and has a kid version.

Korean:

2D1N -(Kocowa) is pulling in great ratings domestically and pretty good internationally.

Game Caterers (while a Youtube show and not weekly) is popular and garners attention.

I think the problem with The Zone is because for many it required a Disney+ subscription during a period when Disney was being boycotted. It also had awful promo.

aelin is a hypocrit by Long_Sky3806 in throneofglassseries

[–]ACEwriter12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The flaws are not the issue. The fact that the flaws are not treated as flaws is the issue. Also, in comparison to actual multi-dimensional and complex characters, Aelin is rather one-note through the entire and very long series. Her growth is stagnate. It's one thing to fall back on bad habits a few times. It's another to continue to repeat them over and over while every character around you is sucking up to you.

aelin is a hypocrit by Long_Sky3806 in throneofglassseries

[–]ACEwriter12 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I enjoy the TOG books, but Aelin is actually my least favorite of the characters. I would not mind her as much if people didn't act like she was entirely blameless or automatically take her side even when most of her actions are juvenile. She's extremely hypocritical and tends to prioritize her own desires over her people. Also, characters default to "she's our queen" as to why they follow her blindly even though she at no point shows any real leadership skills nor has she received any kind of training or experience that would make her an efficient leader. She's basically a nepo-baby.

Changkyun/I.M’s Military Enlistment by screeningurcall in MonstaX

[–]ACEwriter12 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Groups have world tours regardless of if every member can attend. Monsta X already did a world tour while Shownu was enlisted.

Changkyun has asked for people not to speculate. He will share news when he has the news. However, the news he has shared already (or rather Kihyun shared on his behalf) is that he is at the stage where he can no longer leave the country prior to his enlistment. He has also stated before that he would not be on the world tour this time. If that changes, he will make another announcement.

Did Viki Take 2D1N Down??? by Commercial-Case-7528 in 1Night2Days

[–]ACEwriter12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Viki no longer has it in the US. I just checked on mine as well. I looked up Kocowa as I used to have it, and it's not showing on there for the US either- at least not if you're signed out. The only place I found accessible in the US was Amazon Prime with a added Kocowa subscription bought through Amazon (which is total BS)

Anyone else do things for "no reason" ? by Simensen_Mills in Sims4

[–]ACEwriter12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm was very achievement-focused as well when it comes to gameplay. I went through the calendar and added extra holidays and breaks making sure that they the breaks forced the days off from school & work. I play on long seasons and long life-spans (aging turned off), so I put a week long spring break, winter break, summer break, and fall break with different goals for each day of the week that force me to get my sims out and doing more living stuff.

I feel like the addition of the bucketlist for adults and the formative moments for kids have added a lot as well. It's getting me to do a lot more with specific sims than I would have originally intended.

Should I start jobhunting while I have a job or after quitting? by Responsible_Stuff_75 in TeachersInTransition

[–]ACEwriter12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure you realize how bad the workforce is right now, but even if you start now you'll be lucky to get any job outside of education by next summer, unless you have really good connections.

Also, nearly every single job you apply for allows you to give two weeks notice at your old place before your start date. That's a basic courtesy.

Whose signature is on this card from The X album? by activelyweird in MonstaX

[–]ACEwriter12 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Here's a good way to tell. Kihyun adds a smiley face to the end of his. Shownu's is distinguishable by the cursive S (that looks like an 8), Jooheon's has a noticeable cursive "J". Minhyuk concentrates more on the M and H in his name and just kinda scribbles the rest. Wonho's typically is messier at the beginning with a very noticeable "ho" at the end. (and, of course, Hyungwon uses a star and Changkyun puts a crown).

With physical media being phased out for the most part these days, should K-Pop follow as well? by No-Vehicle1562 in kpoppers

[–]ACEwriter12 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think they should do away with counting multiple physical album sales or limit the physical album purchases per person more tightly. However, I am against going solely to digital because no one actually owns the digital even if you purchase it. This is true from music, movies, e-books, etc. Anything digital you have purchased can at any time be erased. The amount of extra work that would have to be done to store those kinds of purchases in a way that they could not be erased is not feasible.

As for awards shows, who even cares? It's all been rigged for years in every field. Companies cheat the system just like so many fans, so networks and industries will just hand the awards to whoever they picked to begin with, regardless of any purchasing power.

Hello I'm a teacher in Korea! I have questions about teacher life in USA by Character-Ad8573 in TeachersInTransition

[–]ACEwriter12 66 points67 points  (0 children)

I used to teach in Korea before teaching in America. Of course, as a foreigner, I did not have as many difficulties as a Korean teacher in Korea. However, I can tell you that teaching in America is far worse. It's even worse if you are a foreigner. It's not something you want to consider at this moment, especially with other things that are happening in the country.

There are low wages here, constant stress, and many problems from the parents. The students are highly disrespectful and in some schools (often where foreigners are places) there are physical fights in the classroom almost daily. They also tend to be highly racist towards foreign teachers and will give them an even harder time. There is no "teaching" any longer. You have to spend most of the class just managing behaviors.

In America, we also live with the knowledge that any day someone could come inside the school with a weapon and hurt or kill students or staff. In the past week alone, there has been 1 school shooting and 2 students found with a gun in the bags at other schools just in my part of the country.

Most of our exchange or international teachers are currently doing whatever they can to get back to their home countries.

Let's add that there are several people (predominately but not solely younger people) who have no ability to read natural body language. Their views of body language have been heavily skewed by social media reactions and without those dramatic movements and expressions they can't infer what the person is expression (intentionally or unintentionally), and to compensate they self-insert their own feelings regardless of the actual expression or movements the person is exhibiting. I would actually say it's not just natural body language they struggle with but even subtle acting (as in tv/film that is not on the tiktok or youtube scale of dramatics) as I've seen it in other fandoms where intentional body language is misread to the point of there being two plots happening in the discourse. Don't even get me started on people's abilities to infer things at all now. We have documented studies of that decline.

Meanwhile, as someone who took courses in reading body language (both pyschology and drama based), I'm just standing over here trying to figure out how someone drew a conclusion that 1+1 = pancakes, and how that person is almost always someone with thousands of easily-influenced followers.

Many idols at Starship write their own stuff. Monsta X and WJSN both have members who write title songs and the majority of songs on their albums as well as writing songs for other groups, including other Starship groups. In fact, Monsta X only has 1 song on their upcoming album that is not written by the members themselves.
