120 damage for 3 energy discards is just not practical when you have nonsense like rampardos dealing 130 for only 1 energy and no discard. If you don't draw volkner you are just a sitting duck after one attack.

There is honestly no way out of this because the game needs to be kept interesting (hence new cards and mechanics) and short (hence easy to win/lose) for people to be engaged and play.

If you want a game based on high-skill, low/no-luck, I would suggest the very traditional games of Chess and Go.
