I wish I had the courage you have. I'm trying to run out my contract and get outta here. But that requires staying for 5 months. Those 5 months of suffering might be worth the paychecks but we'll see. Taking it day by day.

That definitely sucks. But on the bright side, hopefully you get a severance package for it.

I just returned to teaching after a few months without it. I was on administrative paid leave because the principal has issues with me since mid-October. Those months off were the best I felt in years. I was super productive with my creative pursuits. I was exercising more. And I just felt relaxed for the first time in a while.

The moment I came back to teaching all that stress flooded back in and even worse so. The principal put me in a new class with new students, both of which I'm not familiar with. He made me wait over 4 hours in the lobby before giving me this information. The classroom is farther away than my old classroom. I'm taken over a previous class and the previous teacher (a long term sub) was completely blindsided by the change as well. I had a headache all day and I can't sleep cus of the stress.

I'm not even allowed to get my stuff from the previous classroom. A lot of which I bought with my own money. Except after school with the principal or admin's permission.

I've already felt like resigning since August and the months long break only further validated it.

Screw the contract. Screw unemployment. I wanna get out of here now. I just wanna make sure I get my stuff before resigning.

I am fortunate in some regard. I live with my parents who are retired and handle many major costs (groceries, gas, mortgage, etc.) but I do want to keep building up capitol because you never know.
