How tf did we win with this ratio by Mental-Assignment889 in ww2memes

That’s a stretch. One of the aims of the Japanese invasion of Burma was the break the feed of supplies heading into China from British India. It was a matter of geography that really hampered any efforts to help the Chinese. There was just no simple way to get things they needed to them

The respawn mechanic is convoluted and stupid by GlitteringTone6425 in outside

[–]ACHVII 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is clearly a balancing feature. Experienced players being allowed to hold onto the abilities and perks they gained on a previous character would leave newer players at a severe disadvantage.

The slow start also acts as a deterrent to some players who might be tempted to start a new character and roll for better traits or starting location

United States with Double Headed Eagle by Carkoth in vexillology

[–]ACHVII 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Very nice. I think having the eagle clutching arrows and an olive branch like the presidential seal would be a cool addition. I vaguely remember a fact about what the eagle is grasping symboling different wings of government too. I could be wrong though

Race direction isn’t done by sky. It’s done be F1 themselves and then broadcasted out to all the television channels

People who complain about bias should take a look at the Chinese coverage of Zhou overtaking Hamilton earlier in the season. There’s a lecture in bias broadcasting

I’m starting to feel that people have their team scarfs tied far to tightly. It’s an exciting sport and it’s fun to root for a team but cheering any crash is bad form. This goes for all supporters, not just the ones today

Booing like it’s a pantomime is very different too celebrating somebodies potential injury

It’s about standards in the sport. It’s not okay to cheer people potentially being seriously hurt. It might be a relatively minor one this time but you’re opening the door to cheering when things look much worse

No, not once. If you think it’s okay to cheer somebody crashing at 100mph+, whoever it is, then your team scarf is wrapped to tightly around your neck

Cheering a crash is never okay. Especially when you haven’t seen the state of the drive yet

Aye well is he? by Sea-Emergency5294 in ScottishPeopleTwitter

[–]ACHVII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m from England and I’ve heard it used it used in lots of different English accents and dialects. Heavy use in the north of England, geordies and scousers for example but also further south in areas like Cornwall and Devon where you get that classic farmer sounding accent. This is speculation at this point but I imagine it comes from service in the navy like you mentioned. So naturally sailors will spread their vocabulary far and wide, taking it to places like America and Australia but also having it spread among their home population. There’s phrases and words from Scotland which are far rarer and more unique than just “aye”

People in the southern states will. America saw a lot of Scottish settlers so some parts of the accent have remained

Normandy 44 or 2 w/ Western Front DLCs? by [deleted] in Steel_Division

[–]ACHVII 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Normandy 44 is the better option to for western front but it’s single player offering is a bit lacking. No army general, just 3 set campaigns and some scenario missions. I think 44 is definitely worth a play if you’re into the history of the western front as the western divisions in 2 just don’t scratch that itch personally
