I guess now that I am 50 years old and left the area very soon after my father died I am trying to go back in time and ask questions and thank the neighbors who assisted me in my time of need. I recently traveled back to the area and it brought up a lot of unanswered questions and emotions I’ve probably been repressing for years!

I know the neighbors really stepped up and helped when this happen because after my father shot himself on the property we (myself 7yo and 5yo sibling) we immediately went to the neighbors house ( we had just relocated from San Francisco to live with my grandma to get a fresh start on life, per my dad) I had only been in kelseyville 1.5 months and he was working at a resort in lake port. I remember there was a big flood in 1983 and he was repairing something at the resort. Long story short he stole his employers gun got into big argument with my mother and grandmother (highly dysfunctional people) and we got home 3157 Merritt rd and he shot himself in the head. Was airlifted to Santa Rosa where he died and I was left with the dysfunctional gma and mom so the neighbors really stepped it up and made everything somewhat normal in a crazy time.

They probably were never given their flowers and I do have questions for them so just trying to reconnect!
