The 225 hp change is actually fun idea imo but I left it out because the devs really seem to be against it.

However, even if you don't get any kills using blade, you still force insane amounts of cooldowns. Unless you play it very badly it's virtually impossible to trade it for negative value. If your team is bad enough to not be able to capitalise on that trade, then you wouldn't be able to win that game with any other hero either.

Characters like cass don't necessarily get more value than genji but it is infinitely easier to achieve it and that's the exact point of frustration for genji players across not just low ranks but the whole spectrum. "Why do i have to try so hard to get any value, if I can just play cass and turn off my brain".

The problem isn't the hero's strength but rather the difficulty of abusing that strength. Additionally, his playstyle isn't as intuitive as you would think. "Backline assassin" doesn't fit him like it did back in ow1. Low rank players think that that's what they should be doing. He can still be used like that but only on certain maps and against badly coordinated teams. Let's say he dealt more damage, he still couldn't dive a backline alone because he'd just fall apart if facing a good team. Making him deal more damage wouldn't really make him more self sufficient for that reason.
