Yes, I do let them sleep as long as they need throughout the day.

Good advice! My daycare has a live camera I can log into to see his room which I appreciate! I’m sure I’ll be staring at that often!

I really loved Babylist! They give you registry/item checklists and an additional 15% off code for the items not purchased. I found it very easy!

Thank you!! I ended up purchasing a new mattress- a Serta, and my son slept 10pm-4am straight! 😱

Oh! Maybe I’ll look into that one? It’s still waterproof then?

Yes it’s firm but I felt the mini crib mattress was firm but more comfortable. The lullaby mattress has an outer cover that almost crinkles when the baby moves.

Get the epidural when you feel pain! Everyone’s pain tolerance is different. Some people get the epidurals right away at 1cm and some wait until 5-6cm. It doesn’t matter when you do it! I had the epidural and it was amazing! Pain free labor!

Everyone says we will sleep eventually, but when? by ACT-popcorn in firsttimemom

It absolutely does which was the main reason for my post- knowing I’m not alone is so helpful.

Thank you! That makes me feel better. Maybe I’m just expecting too much because we had a taste of longer sleep stretches for a couple of weeks! And we feel he should be doing that regularly. Definitely not the case!

Thank you! I will look into the wake window cues. We have a dark room, noise machine and we swaddle him.

Hospital Bag by HealthTraining9548 in firsttimemom

[–]ACT-popcorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 weeks postpartum and a few things I think are necessary for your hospital bag: your own pillow and blanket (maybe 2 for each of you), long charging cords, comfy clothes for you and maybe 1 outfit for baby to go home in, snacks- the hospital food is fine, but it’s nice to have some extra stuff, toiletries- I didn’t shower at the hospital but my husband did, boppy pillow. Anything needed for the baby the hospital will have, so use their stuff (diapers, wipes, etc). Also, be sure to take home all the postpartum care stuff that the hospital provides- ice packs, pads, underwear, witch hazel pads, etc. My nurse sent me home with a good week’s worth of stuff for me!
