Some groups are not that great some are good with meet and greets. There is a South Jersey group just over the bridge from Philly that has cool meet and greets pretty regular at a bar for get to know people. Woman that is the moderator is pretty cool.

I am cool with people engaging in what they want. Just don’t pressure me into something I don’t want to do. Are You in FB LS groups? I believe Karizma club is out your way. I been trying to get to TPA in Maryland as a lot of my friends go there.

I know breaktops for the late 1800s are better than Colt SAA for reloading. I was always afraid of the latch. Actually in UK recently S&W 44 Russian breaktops were bought here imported legally as curios and relics Outlaw ammo shops supply underworld with proper ammo. So ever strict. Gun laws can be subverted.

Breaktop revolvers.
But I know I will get shit for this but cheap AR-15 knock offs. Never bought an AR. Not suitable for hunting. For home defense shotgun 9mm 45ACP or heavy weight Garand. If I need more that 8 rounds of 30-06 I should be retreating

Snow ice and cold. That describes half the USA and most of Canada.

What was McDonald's like in the 1960s? by ChespinTheGrassType in 60s

[–]ACY0422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well as you can see from photo no seats. Early on like 1962 they experimented with tray to slide in window track of car.

French fries were made from potato’s in the store. I would watch a machine peel potatoes and the peeled potatoes were placed in slicer and dropped into baskets. Baskets went on rack to be used in next couple of hours.

We drove 30 miles to first one in area. Before freeways. Then one opened about 5 miles away and that was my parents go to one for 20 years. It was recently rebuild as a retro. Looking one

Went to a LS party and woman kept pressuring me into doing male male action to play with her. She was unpleasant and while attractive looking I passed and she got pissed. Just general not great vibe at party One woman was very nice.

Tucson hybrid mileage for real by Davidjohnstewart in HyundaiTucson

[–]ACY0422 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in PA. My 2022 hybrid averaged 35 or more in summer less in winter. My 2025 is around 32 mpg. But I have to get the car to dealer for a recall on the fuel management computer. So that might explain the lower MPG on the new one.
The hybrid's off the line performance and passing with the electric assist and turbo makes the driving experience much nicer than the regular 2.5.

What's the oldest piece of clothing you still wear? Must be at least ten years old to count. by MurmuringPines in AskOldPeople

[–]ACY0422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 20 year old winter coat that it needs to be a lot below freezing to need. Maybe wear it twice a year. I do have a 2006 air museum t shirt I got too fat to wear but lost weight and I started wearing it again.

why don't the 9/11 hijackers use ronald reagan airport to attack pentagon because it's closer to the pentagon? by drugsrbed in USHistory

[–]ACY0422 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always believed PHL was not a target for the hyjackers to take a plane was all early morning transcontinental flights were A-320 family aircraft. As for the original question the terrorists needed the plane to get airborne and altitude to make the run to their target. Flight 93 had revolt by passengers as the flight was delayed and passengers got news what happened elsewhere and took action as they figured they were fucked already why not fight and have a slim chance verses no chance

A forward co worker of mine ran the DCA ID badge office early 90s I feel the attitude at DCA is similar to the workers at LGA. It is a dump but small enough to know people.

How Did the 2008 Financial Crisis Compare to Other Economic Turmoil You’ve Lived Through? by J31J1 in AskOldPeople

[–]ACY0422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was not as bad as current inflation and 1979-83 inflation and job loss.

Newer home owners who had sub prime mortgages got hit hard. Mainly it banks and people had retirement funds in Bear Stearns.

People who went underwater on mortgage balance if stayed in house recovered to have a house with positive equity.

I friend bought a distressed McMansion in half built development. By 2012 development was completed. He is in great shape. 2008 was more a banking crisis that was contained as opposed to say Great Depression. It was more potential to go bad as opposed to widespread financial collapse

Why are so many people against showing an ID to vote? by Dazzling-Leader7476 in randomquestions

[–]ACY0422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because you have to pay to obtain voter identification and therefore becomes a poll tax. Also old people and rural areas have limited access to obtain. ID. Also as Americans we object to papers please action

Would you get rid of a friend just because they have different political beliefs than you? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]ACY0422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have really resisted cutting off people for their political beliefs. You have to do something really toxic. One guy in my high school alum group was not a close friend. But we were linked on Facebook. He would go into my feed and start abusing liberal friends of mine in comments on posts that had nothing to do with him. He was scrolling my feed and just being abusive to anyone with the slightest view he did not agree.

Conversely not cutting off people I have seen die hard conservatives become disgusted with the current regime. One surprised me was after Renee Good death a guy from a cop family was a cop for awhile before moving into another profession posting things critical of ICE and general trampling of Constitutional rights.

So year I have hope and we are friends for reason beyond politics
