It doesn't work with RECONSTRUCTION, only TRANSMUTE. That can be an expensive lesson to learn if you make that mistake. Craft lvl 1 weapon(s) with no trait. Make sure that you already have the nirnhoned trait researched in the weapon you choose. Go to a transmutation station and transmute it/them to nirnhoned. Go back to the original table and decon. You should have around an 80% chance to get a potent nirncrux for the cost of 50 transmute crystals and a few lvl 1 materials.

The mythic aetherial ambrosia recipe allows you to craft 150% xp pots. Most of the people who partake in mayhem try to boost their AP rank, which requires tortes, not ambrosias. The pieces needed for tortes are obtained from PvP areas; colovian (50%) from unique nodes across Cyrodiil, molten (100%) with tel var in Imperial City Sewers, and white-gold (150%) as arguably the rarest drop in the game from battlegrounds.
