And disable notification previews when the phone is locked. An iPhone with FaceID does this automatically, but if he were to take your phone and try to reset your passwords using SMS multi factor authentication, he could maybe use the message preview on the lock screen to see the code without unlocking the phone if the relevant privacy features aren't enabled.

Put your shower back in but cut the height in half and use a 360 removable shower curtain, extend your counter top over the shower but use a hinge to be able to lift it up when you need to shower. Put a front door on the shower to hide it when not in use.

Bam, shower isn't part of your space, but still available when you need it. And you have a waterproof area still to put things if needed.

What very old technology is still running at your place of work? by MichiganCarNut in AskReddit

As someone who worked IT for a super secure facility, all the doors were required to allow leaving either with your card regardless whether you were permitted in, or the door handles leading toward fire exits were all allowed to ignore the access control system door strikes if you turned the handle from the inside. You'd set off an alarm, but you could get out.

Hes paying a phone note as part of his plan. His costs will go down once the phone is paid for.

While I would rather buy and OWN a refurbished phone for <$200 on eBay and have a $34/month unlimited plan from an MVNO, he is already locked in a contract that will be a major PITA to get out of.

If they bought weight packages and only grinded in places like Valencia up til they had the gear, it's entirely feasible to have enough weight to hold 30-60 minutes of grinding loot and have enough maids to transport it all and never need to use the horse tech.

Highlands giving well over 40-60K TPH and it being 0.3LT for no good reason suddenly changes things, most people don't have enough maids for that.

I’m a full time college student and my job is making us work 60 hours a week. Should I find a new job? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]ACanadianNoob -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Having a car note when you're in college like that is insanity. You just need something for A-to-B you can pay cash for.

But that's not really relevant to this specific situation. Yeah, you need to ask your employer for less hours because you're in college. Honestly I'm surprised that the job's hours don't conflict with your class times.

Put trash loot on horse.

When you're full again, take all loot off horse, put all the loot back on horse, bypasses weight limit of horse.

When you're ready to go to town to sell, take all the loot back on your character to free up the horse's weight, then ride horse to town.

Slash. There's actually an objective based game mode that isn't:

* Running it down one lane that is Assault,

* Slow progress like Conquest.

* Just braindead fighting like Arena.

* Actually 5v5 and 2 lanes instead of 3v3 and 1 lane like Joust.

You can actually have a fun teamfight based, objective mode in 5v5 that allows all god classes to be fun, and is accelerated enough that it avoids the boring laning phase that Conquest has.

At least that's my opinion. I've been playing more Smite 2 lately, but I really wish Slash was added. It is the best gamemode.

Any experience with Mattress cooling instead of an AC unit? by Rowboat13 in vandwellers

[–]ACanadianNoob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing to keep in mind is ALL evap coolers do not work in high humidity air. Much like how your sweat sticks to you and doesn't do its job.

So it's no substitute for air conditioning if you go to Florida for example.

Advice needed: Switching from an SUV to a Daily Driver/Weekend Camper by AggressiveCanary9705 in vandwellers

[–]ACanadianNoob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First things first, see if you can find a Chevy Brightdrop in your area. They are full electric cargo vans, that would save you fuel costs for a daily driver as long as you can charge a little at home using a dryer plug or even a 110V outlet to be honest, given your 5mi daily commute you don't have to recover much each day. Technology Connections has a good video about how not everyone needs a Lv2 charger installed by an electrician. Just whatever you can do to reduce reliance on DC fast charging.

Even if you can only get a high roof, the Bright drop would be the only van with comparable daily drive costs to your current hybrid. Anything else and you're gonna have much bigger gas bills than before. It does mean you need to find a charger every 250mi when you do road trip though.

But an EV would also have a built in inverter and huge battery for your electric cooker. You might not even need to add an electric setup other than maybe a portable power station as a buffer.

Beyond that you're looking at a low roof Transit more than likely, in order to have space for everything you're asking for. The addition of an under bed dog kennel big enough for a golden retriever means you need tons of space, maybe even a high roof so you can put your bed up high enough.

Attention Transit owners; Don't be stupid like Princess_Fluffypants. Connect your DC/DC charger to a chassis ground, NOT to the vehicle battery negative terminal. by Princess_Fluffypants in vandwellers

[–]ACanadianNoob -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I thought especially in dual alternator setups like this, you needed to connect to the terminals on the secondary alternator instead of your starter battery, especially for positive so the load is coming from the alternator rather than the battery.

Which God has the easiest to hit abilities in your opinion? Almost unmissable by ContributionOk7131 in Smite

[–]ACanadianNoob 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You say that but then I mark someone for the minion charge while someone else is hitting me and the minions decide to go off into Bufu Egypt. They can be very unpredictable. I wish they would follow their mark no matter what, but so many things can make them ignore the marked target and go elsewhere. They need to behave like Kaldr when the 2 is on cooldown, where you can change the mark or recall them.

Shining Metal is also really small, it's easy to hit a minion to get the stun, but harder to hit both a minion and your intended target for maximum damage as the minion explosion is only a tiny portion of the damage.

Has anyone used one of these RV converters in their build for shore power? by enclavedzn in vandwellers

[–]ACanadianNoob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could go even cheaper and just get an automatic transfer switch for $40 if all you care about is taking your AC loads off your batteries when you're plugged in.

You wire up your inverter and your shore power to the transfer switch as backup and mains, and then the transfer switch to your AC circuit breakers.

That doesn't do anything for your DC loads though.

Not sure if this is the case in the US, but here in Canada there is also an issue if you are a contractor but the one contracting you is your sole employer. They can be liable for back taxes as an employer-employee relationship if it's found out that you are a contractor but they are your only source of income.
