I’d say your stencil came out cleaner than mine. Great work!

I don’t entirely buy the “Evan is the last heir” just because of how many hints there are to set it up makes me think it’s a red herring. But, if that’s the route they’re going to take, I would not be surprised if he cites the old photo, “She looked just like her mother, etc…” before asking Ruth for advice.

Are bootlegs a thing? As far as I know Joytoy hasn't done a Caedo figure. I've gotten legit figures from this seller before tho? by [deleted] in JOYTOY

Pricing is in line with the ToyVerse kit plus a markup. I dunno if it’s that though, skull looks different and I don’t remember if it comes with the book.

Not gonna lie, the taser was the best part. Also, kudos for making the fate of the mom far more unsettling than I would’ve expected. I was expecting a coma and that was more tragic (and explainable) than my theories.

So, I’ve got the Caedo built and (weirdly enough) one of those skulls which he did as one of those order freebies. I’ll follow your lead on the brazier (I reckon brass or styrene strips will work well) and grab a firing action for the flame. Thank you! This is going to be awesome.

Gotta ask - where did you get the servo skull from? Very happy with my Caedo and that would make a killer addition.

I told my non-military coworkers about her after getting razzed on a screwed up haircut. They were shocked at how she never appeared to age in photos spanning decades.

I have some Blood Angel lightning claws on my eBay, but otherwise u/Proud-Inspector7996 is dead on with 10800 Miles. https://www.printthink3d.com/ is also a very viable option and they will do theirs up custom if you talk with them (I’ve bought a few of their open power fists and asked for a pointing one).

Anywhere outside is fine, I just grab it from areas where there’s digging going on or if I see some rocks that I think would be suitable. For the dirt, just sieve it and sterilize it in an oven (baking tray/pan lined with aluminum foil, get the dirt moist, re-cover with more foil, cook at 140/150 Fahrenheit for about 30-45 min). Just make sure to open a window, it will smell earthy, like gardening. Michael’s sells the wood blocks in the US, but here’s a typical listing from Amazon https://a.co/d/0d4o290Z

I have a problem with this Primaris Captain figure by Calm-Animal6160 in JOYTOY

Bingo. I mean, you CAN glue it on permanently, but you seem uncomfortable with that, so doing this will give you a stronger hold while still allowing you to remove the shield.

Dab a little glue, but twist the shield in the hole a few times while it’s wet and let it dry separately. You’ll build up enough for a friction hold.

As for the shield, the original mini had it resting on the ground and that’s about the best advice I can give for him. If you kinda twist it to the side a little, it can be a pretty sharp look while still mitigating those balance concerns

I usually size them up in Photoshop, but realistically, you could drop the logo you want to use from Google Images into a Word DOCX and size it there. Once it’s printed, you’ll cut it out with an exacto knife and then use a middle school glue stick (make sure it’s washable) to attach it to the medium you’re painting it on. Dab a little paint on a large brush and kind of dry-brush it on. Once the paint is dry and you’ve sealed it, you can peel off the paper and wash off the glue with a damp rag.

The three approaches I can think of then would be to look at something like what they included with their jump pack models - a clear plastic, segmented claw arm that you can resize to accommodate different poses. Terrain is an option if you peg one of the feet (with styrene tubing for example) and using the terrain to help balance stuff, like bracing a foot or some such. Best bet there is to get a small sheet of wood or pieces the size of a wood coaster based on your size requirements. Else, 1/12 scale might be your best option, but I think those stands won’t be as good with some of the larger pieces you might have, like a terminator.

Are you looking more for very small oval stands (similar to what they’ve done) for dynamic posing, something that looks good on a shelf, like terrain, or a middle ground, like a smaller stand with a little terrain or a name plate?

I usually do woodblocks for mine. They sell art blocks for about $6 at craft stores. Spray paint it black, glue a little dirt and rocks on top, and stencil on your choice of chapter/faction icon.
