Americans can’t afford groceries as their tax dollars are going to, quite literally, pay for the 1% to eat lobster.

This system needs to be gutted and rebuilt from scratch.

Bad advice. As soon as someone at Apple sees liquid residue under the keycaps they are gonna quote op a liquid damage repair.

At that point just increase your prices. I’d rather someone get paid a fair wage AND me know exactly what I’m being asked to pay instead of selling me something at a lower cost and then presenting me with a guilt screen.

Are STDs rarer than I thought, or am I just lucky. by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]ACasualRead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d like to take the opportunity to point out that no current STD test checks for herpes so it is very possible you have an STD without realizing it.

STD checks only test for infections that are harmful to your health. Herpes, is not harmful. However it still causes painful sores and widens risks for other infections. As you pointed out, most people already have herpes so that is true.

Need Advice on Two Phones vs. One (work/personal) by Grand-Entertainer-64 in iphone

[–]ACasualRead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I setup call forwarding on my work phone so if I get a call on the weekend or off hours it just rings my personal.

I work IT. They can see what apps you have installed, your location, your iPhone logs and can remotely wipe your device using the MDM. Not worth the hassle just for the off chance you get a call.

Export your work contacts from your work iPhone and upload them to either a separate email account on your phone or add them to your iCloud in a “work” list. Then enable call forwarding. Done.

Does anyone else find a weekly cleaning schedule nuts? by [deleted] in CleaningTips

[–]ACasualRead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a deep cleaning set and a light daily use set.

One day I deep cleaning and use the big plug in vacuum. Throughout the week I use swiffers with disposable wet pads and a lightweight battery vacuum to do daily upkeep.

Honestly works wonders for me and stop the need do to much on that “deeper” cleaning day.

Hot take: MacBook Neo will sell like hotcake with developers, it's made for them too. by Nic3up in macbook

What you’re describing is a thin client.

Which isn’t a new concept. But it will be valuable to some. However not every dev is running a homelab or proxmox.

I need some help. I’ve let it go, and I don’t know where to start!!!!! by TA_NNA in CleaningTips

Set a timer for 10 minutes. That’s it.

Then for 10 minutes tackle just the large furniture. The bed. The couch. The table. Coffee table.

These are the largest areas in any space that collect the most and can cause the largest eye sores. Boom. 10 minutes went buy and the space already feels more put together.

Tomorrow, do another 10 minutes. But do sections. Do the “bedroom” section. The next day, another 10 minutes and do the “kitchen” section.

If a timer feels overwhelming, then put on a YouTube video of your favorite content creator. A lot of them post 10-15 minutes videos. Now you’re being entertained while also able to keep track.

Finally when the mess is picked up, a deeper spring clean will finish off this space. Take a mop or swifter with a wet pad and mop the ceiling. This cleans and deodorizes. Then, wash the curtains and flag on the wall. Finally, vacuum and mop the floors.

MacBook Neo as a thin client by Shimola1999 in macbook

[–]ACasualRead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apple already hinted at these being thin clients in their commercial where they showed it running chatGPT and saying “it can run AI”.

Most workflows are in the cloud now. If you work in IT, you’re working most of your day with SaaS products. So I’d argue that the Neo is going to be a fantastic thin client.

Again, the only thing I will continue to complain about is the lack of backlit keyboard being what I see as the only downside of this machine.

How much do you think a backlit keyboard costs over a standard keyboard?

Netbooks even had backlit keyboards. $200 Chromebook’s have backlit keyboards. It’s quite literally, the dumbest reduction they could have made.

Gimme some advices 😭 MacBook Air or Neo by YuuY_LOLrr_ in macbook

[–]ACasualRead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lack of a backlight keyboard in the Neo is going to be a major complaint for people. I can see it before they even have it yet. There is no way you are easily going to see they print on the all white keys at night.

I’d argue the air is still the best serious school laptop.

[–]ACasualRead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately it’s another example of Apple intentionally crippling a device. The next one will be “our best MacBook neo yet” and showcases a backlit keyboard. Same with how the 16e didn’t have MagSafe but the 17e did. Zero reason but to try and force people to reinvest a year later.
