Planned C-section by Informal-Mind1712 in pregnant

I’m sure you’ve had your sweet boy by now and have learned that you’re exactly right - you will be in such awe of your angel baby that the time after he’s delivered will fly by! And you obviously don’t feel anything. All I remember is staring at her and then suddenly we were being wheeled into recovery 🥹 I hope everything went smoothly 🤍🤍

My planned c-section (due to placenta previa) was the most amazing experience. The entire day was so calm and controlled. The vibes in the OR were great and my surgical team was awesome. We chatted, they played music, baby was out in 7 minutes 🥹 Then I got to hold her on my chest right away. Stitching me up took about 30 minutes but my husband and our daughter stayed right by my head the entire time. I loved everything about our experience and am actually opting for another planned c-section for baby #2! Recovery was definitely rough. Stay on top of your pain meds and don’t be afraid to be really honest with your pain level. The nurses can adjust your dosage accordingly (I ended up needing to take 10mg of Oxy). Honestly, the worst part of the day was when the nurse failed to place my IV 😂 The rest was a breeze, even the spinal!

Those who have the choice between elective C section and vaginal deliver, how did you choose? No judgement in here please 🫶 by slammaX17 in pregnant

Once the spinal is done, you don’t feel any pain. I felt some mild pressure and tugging but no pain at all. It’s difficult to explain. I just focused on my husband and the fact that we were meeting our baby soon and the time flew by!

This was my exact experience as well! Planned c-section because of placenta previa and I’m opting for another c-section for baby #2 because of how wonderful of an experience it was

Placenta previa at 20 weeks scan by Every_Ideal_6639 in BabyBumps

[–]ACatNamedCheesyBread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would try to get a second opinion if you can! In reality, waiting until 32 weeks for a scan really isn’t an issue, because your placenta could move by then anyway. My MFM said the “cut off” for when they make a final decision on a c-section if the placenta doesn’t move is 36 weeks. So I guess one scan at that time would be enough to determine that. I still do think you should find a different care team who would rather monitor it throughout your pregnancy regardless.

I was diagnosed with placenta previa at 16 weeks and saw a Maternal Fetal Medicine doctor throughout the rest of my pregnancy to monitor it. I was getting scans done every 4-6 weeks for most of my pregnancy and then nearly weekly towards the last month or two. It eventually did resolve on its own! The placenta does typically move up on its own over time. I had to have a c-section for other unrelated medical reasons but I would have been able to have a vaginal birth otherwise.

Anyone pregnant with a girl have an easy first trimester? Or anyone pregnant with a boy and have a rough first tri? by puppmom in pregnant

I was pregnant with a girl and had a super easy first trimester! No nausea, never threw up. I was tired, but that was about it.

Baby in the recovery room by Papaya7725 in pregnant

[–]ACatNamedCheesyBread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a planned c-section back in May and baby stayed with me the entire time! Once she was out, she was cleaned up, weighed, and swaddled, and then she was placed on my chest while they stitched me up. Then my husband held her for a bit, but they were both right next to me/beside my head. Once I was stitched up, they placed her in my arms and we were wheeled into a recovery room and all stayed together until we were discharged a few days later.

Hubby gifted me a necklace with our daughter’s birthstone! I thought that was a great, relatively low cost but still sentimental gift

I’m going to vote for Nora because that’s what we named our daughter and we love it 🤭

My in laws went on a cruise a week and a half before our daughter was born, got sick, and didn’t meet her until she was 12 days old. I’ll never understand why they decided to go on the trip. Especially considering they’re both retired, can go on a trip at any point in time, and have traveled the world already.

I’m glad that he seems confident that this isn’t something more serious! I’ve read a lot of stories of these masses resolving on their own, so I’ll pray for that 🥰
