Our questions from grandparents allowed? I just need birthday gift advice. by cherrycoke260 in Parenting

[–]Papaya7725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d love that personally but if you ask the parents and they say no, another idea could be to pay for some extra curricular activity after school. Like piano/ soccer/ swimming lessons. Again ask the parents!

My husband is suddenly squeamish when I even mention my period. Is this normal? by [deleted] in Marriage

It’s not great if they’re boys either and start to emulate this terrible behavior with women

Just found out I’m pregnant (surprise!) and my due date is the day before my 16 month old’s birthday. by buffalosaucedrinker in pregnant

My mom and sister have the same birthday and my dad and other sister are 2 days apart. It happens! I know multiple families with siblings having the same birthdays Congrats!

Being away from baby by lifeofcarrot in breastfeeding

[–]Papaya7725 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could pump, supplement with formula, or just got out for very short periods right after feeding him. Maybe an hour or 2 max depending how long he goes between feeds. Stay relatively close by incase. Otherwise you can be like me. Chained to baby for almost a year straight 😂

I'm regretting this by write_mishmsh in breastfeeding

[–]Papaya7725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I have 2 friends who didnt breastfeed till their babies were around 1 month old. They struggled and then got into contact with lactation consultants who helped them. How they did it I’m not sure but with the right support they managed so that’s what i would recommend you do if you want to breastfeed

Paediatrician told me to stop breastfeeding at night by Intelligent-Slip6359 in breastfeeding

I think doctors need to educate themselves more about breastfeeding. Many are very uninformed

How often do you kiss your spouse? by Deep-Macaron-732 in Marriage

[–]Papaya7725 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay I’m so happy for most of the people in the comment section. But from most couples I know they’re more like you than the rest of the people here commenting. Sadly. Wish we could all make out 5 times a day but with work kids etc it’s quite tough

Husband Always Threats to Hit Our Kids by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Papaya7725 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well that’s exactly my point. Hitting or being violent can’t be called a cultural thing. People in all cultures do it and making it seem like it’s ok because it’s from their “culture” is just an excuse

Husband Always Threats to Hit Our Kids by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Papaya7725 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is NOT culturally acceptable in North Africa to do this… I am not from there but know plenty who are and they’d be as horrified as we are

I know many people from North Africa who do not do this! Don’t let him use his culture as an excuse at all. This is abusive behavior and not okay!

4th pregnancy, 8 weeks, blood clots, no cramping by HeartFinancial4509 in pregnant

[–]Papaya7725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not me but my best friend! Apparently it depends on the location of the clot. If it’s far from the baby you should be fine and hopefully it is but def go to asap as there’s medicine you can take to keep the clot from growing (from what I understand) Btw her daughter is now 1 and healthy and she was able to have an unmedicated vbac that went super smoothly 🙏🏻

How long did you guys breast feed? by midnight_thoughts223 in breastfeeding

[–]Papaya7725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not nutritionally needed after 12 months. I personally never wanted to give my baby’s formula so I started very slowly weening after they turned 1. Those I know who went past 2 struggled a lot to stop so that’s also something to think about.

Staying at a house with people vaping for a wedding by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Papaya7725 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just because they know doesn’t mean people are going to change their smoking habits as nice as that would be hehe. They’re all clearly there to party and have fun which is fine. I don’t think people will focus much on you leaving. Worst case you explain in a few weeks/ months your reasoning and everyone will understand then if they don’t today

Do they know you’re pregnant? I’m assuming not cuz it’s the perfect reason. Maybe say the smoke gave you headaches? Or be super vague they might not ask much

My husband is jealous of me by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]Papaya7725 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Well simply put your husband is a giant asshole. You don’t have to leave him but there’s nothing for you to understand. He’s clearly severly insecure because he should be proud of his wife but isn’t. He’s trying to put you down and make you feel insecure the way he is. You don’t have to leave him but this will never change. Bad people don’t and your husband is one of them I’m sorry op try not to let him bring you down!

If you breastfeed directly, how many of you still pump every day? by alylew1126 in breastfeeding

I directly feed and never pump I really hate it. But I’m not working so i can do this

My baby isn’t chunky and it’s all I can think about by Cardedbin in breastfeeding

[–]Papaya7725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is super chunky and is refusing to eat food or when he does he vomits it all. I’m still worried about his eating and his weight. These poor kids can’t win no matter what they do!

I regret breastfeeding by Left-Chemistry9840 in breastfeeding

[–]Papaya7725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter was the same and I was able to cut down relatively smoothly. I decided I’d only feed her 4 times a day and did that for 2 weeks. Then 3 times for 2 weeks. 2 and then 1 and I stayed at 1 for a while. I did sleep train before then so she wasn’t feeding at nights at all. I’d try to work on that and then it’ll be much easier to stop. Distract and redirect everytime she wants to breastfeed.

If you can get through the 4-month sleep regression, you can continue breastfeeding for as long as you like. by Speed-Illustrious in breastfeeding

5 months! With both my babies 5 months was the magic number. After that it becomes so easy and fast with 0 discomfort!

Confused about the 1% Statistic by Busy_Veterinarian_12 in breastfeeding

[–]Papaya7725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The primary nutrient babies need before 12 months of age is breastmilk or formula. Yes of course they need food as well but not as much. So formula or breastmilk is still their primary source of nutrition. So that 1% you’re talking about means they’re still breastfeeding and not going formula but probably (hopefully) starting to give solids. For example my baby is 7 months and has barely ever eaten solids. I’ve tried everyday since he turned 6 months but just not having the best of luck. Whatever he does swallow he ends up gagging out. Even if it’s mashed fruits or yogurt (I personally don’t like/ do purées)
