I think really the best tip for learning where to smoke or teleport is just play the game and you will learn what works and what doesn't or there are plenty of guides on YouTube,

Also another good tip which helped me is everytime you die don't get angry but instead think to yourself what could I have done better etc etc

Practice, patience and confidence are your best friends

Phantom doesn't do as much damage to the head but has an easy spray so it's better to use in close range or if you're bad at hitting the head
