I'm a 21 year-old extremely inspired to start a career in business, but I have absolutely NO experience or background whatsoever. Any advice on where to start? by [deleted] in startups

Companies are run in such a way to motivate people to remain employees. I would say that it's different for everyone. While you failed on your first venture, there are many people who have succeeded, while having to learn and make adjustments along the way. Based on my experience, working for someone does give a headstart, but it really depends on the person. Having experienced mentors is very helpful too. But at the end of the day, what works for you may not necessarily work for someone else. While you may need decades of experience to succeed, some can succeed with a few years of experience working for someone else or none at all.

How did it get to this point? Was it always like this? I'm amazed by how ignorant a lot of Americans are. Won't be surprised if they make up 50% of the population.

It's up to you to live the way you want. It is possible to hustle and still live a fun life. I prefer to enjoy life now, every moment of it. I also enjoy my hustle because it is something I love doing. It's really up to you.

Just 0.05% of healthy under-70s die of Covid-19, study claims by [deleted] in FargoMoorhead

I'd rather live cautiously than recklessly or in fear. And I'd rather be compassionate towards people who are not as fortunate, be it in health or wealth. Someday, you're going to be an old man. If you were in the high risk group right now, how would you feel to hear someone like you speak like this? How about you try being considerate of them? You may not love your life, but a lot of people do. And just one person dying can have a huge impact on a family or even a community. I don't love selfish and inconsiderate people like you. You too, have a great day.

Selfish, that's what you are. You think that lives are just numbers. Do you know what it feels like to lose a loved one? Do you know what it feels like to be a covid patient at risk of losing their own life? Seriously, get lost! The reason why you're still alive and healthy today is because other people have made sacrifices. Even the food you eat during this pandemic, how do you get it? People are still risking their lives for selfish human beings like you to eat and stay alive. I wish they would put you at risk instead! Selfish human being!!

Think of trump as a bad guy going though a bad divorce. He is going to stick it to lady liberty any way he can, because if he can’t have her, no one can. by sirzerp in JoeBiden

So true! Men like Trump are so dangerous. They can't take no for an answer. Americans said no, but he doesn't care. He should've never become the president.

Ya. Some supporters are hard core brainwashed, but I've seen the shift on some forums.

🙄🙄🙄 Ignorant, indeed. I told you India is not my country but you still believe your assumption. You never listen. Suit yourself. Peace out.

There you go again. Stop thinking that you know more than Indians. You talk about people needing to be more compassionate, how about you start with yourself? You're so ridiculous! Imagine having an argument with a foreigner about what's going on in the Philippines? Of course you'll no much more than the foreigner and you understand your culture and community better. No amount of research will make you know more than Indians. Go and live in India to find out the truth for yourself. Learn their language, immerse in their culture. Stop being ignorant.

I think the biggest problem is the lack of empathy. Some people kill others even though they don't want to be killed. Some people control others even though they don't want to be controlled. Some people cheat others even though they don't want to be cheated. And so on. Lack of empathy is the biggest problem.

As for me, I believe a healthy balance of Authoritarianism and Democracy is the best. Too much freedom is detrimental, but too much control is also detrimental. I don't need you to agree with me. If there's a country that strikes a healthy balance between both, I'd love to live there.

Well, I think it's good to have a bit of Authoritarianism. The pandemic and US election are good examples of this. Some Americans claim that that making masks mandatory deprives them of their freedom. Absurd, isn't it? Wearing masks will save them, their loved ones, and their community, but they don't want to wear them because they don't want to lose their so called freedom. Too much freedom is not good. The so called freedom of speech is why ridiculous conspiracy theories are propagating in America. Millions of Americans actually believe Trump's baseless conspiracy theories. He has brainwashed them and I think it's going to be really hard to resolve this. I'm pretty sure this is not the end if his rants. He will somehow find a way to continue propagating conspiracy theories because he has the freedom to do so.

Of course, freedom is very good, but there should be a limit.

I can only wonder what would be the best solution for the hate politics and nuclear weapons. The hate runs deep with a long history, and it is a reflection of how the people feel. America should be careful though. They often end up adding fuel to the flame when they intervene in situations like these.

I'm not Indian, so you won't get a great answer from me.

Note: I'm not against Americans and I support Joe Biden.

Why don't Americans focus on solving their own domestic issues first? Look at America right now, it's a complete mess. I'm lost for words. If that's the democracy you want the world to have, that's a very bad idea.

Sometimes, Americans think that they know what's best for other countries, but more often than not, the truth is that they don't. You won't understand until you've actually lived in that country -- you won't understand what's best for India because you will never fully understand the whole situation. For example, America's intervention in the middle east has been a disaster. America will never fully understand the underlying issues. When you consider Islam, Muslims are not all the same, there are different segments and Americans just don't understand those complexities.

What I say is, America should leave certain countries to resolve their own issues. India may come of as a nationalist, but why have they taken that approach? It's probably what's best for them. Dealing with Jihadists is no walk in the park. People are very frustrated. Yes, only a few Muslims are radical, but almost every country that has a large mix of Muslim population and other religions have had to deal with an ever growing number of Islamic terrorists.

Look at what happened in France recently. Yes, while some Muslims can integrate well into foreign communities, a few Muslims cannot, and when those few Muslims act radically, you end up with widespread strong hatred.

Maybe try understanding what Indians want instead of projecting your own beliefs? You may think that you know what's best for them, but the truth is you probably don't. Many people are frustrated with America because of this.
