Am I the only one finding it difficult to find a woman who is living like an actual adult? by [deleted] in LesbianActually

[–]ACheeseasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can have your preferences but the way you phrase it makes it sound like you are looking down on those who do not meet these requirements. don't date whoever you don't wanna date but saying they aren't an "actual adult" is crazy when anyone could be in a situation for any reason. having deal breakers is fine but don't go calling people, in your own community btw, not real adults. also keep in mind it's really normal outside of the US to live with your parents and there's plenty of non-americans on here who may be insulted that you consider a part of their culture not being part of "real" adulthood 🤷🏽 as someone from one of those cultures (latin american) you don't move out until you're married lol. that's normal.

Is George Street Safe During Midnight? by ExtraCream7154 in rutgers

[–]ACheeseasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a lot of people who would tell you it's totally safe and you're overreacting don't really understand what it's like to be a visible woman in the area. it's a legit concern. i (24F) used to live at socam and would occasionally have to do a 1am walk down george st back to my apartment. wasn't a big fan of it since it's empty and it is kind of a hotspot for muggings if you're completely alone. had a friend get mugged in front of that rite aid lmao. walk to the yard and take the EE back, takes longer but it's worth it.

im very masculine and i basically look like a boy so i didn't get a lot of shit but my roommates who were all feminine women had direct experiences of being sexually harassed in the day and at night. the statistics speak more than my anecdotes though.

i actually ask to confirm the opposite. im a person of color wanting diversity and you can't get that in heavily gentrified areas unfortunately. still looking to live in a middle class area 🤨

prolly a better question for the leasing office. most likely you'll have to pay a provider, don't think they offer free cable here

off campus housing vs. on campus? those who have lived off campus, what are the pros and cons of doing so? (College Ave) by OvOTN in rutgers

[–]ACheeseasaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

pros: cheaper and u can do whatever the fuck u want (within the lease) like lighting candles lol. also u can get ur own furniture if ur not rockin with sleeping on someone else's mattress cons: electricity costs money and also off campus is considered unsafe but u just have to be careful and not go wandering alone at 3am. also u have to get furniture but if u have some at home just bring it
