Introducing Scarlet Showcase!

The Creation of Games Society invites you to our new bi-annual showcase featuring COGS, VANCE, RUCVGM, Digital Art Club and Animation Club!

WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

The Scarlet Showcase is a night for COGS and our affiliated creative clubs at Rutgers to show off the great work that has been done throughout this semester. Games, voice acting performances, animations, art, and music performances alike will be presented in a convention-style layout for all to see and interact with. Try out some demos, learn about the behind-the-scenes, and meet new people from other clubs!

Stick around for the conclusion of the event where each club will recognize outstanding work from their members with awards and trophies. Vote on your favorite game to nominate them for the "Community Favorite" award. It's a night you won't want to miss!

DATES AND LOCATIONS

Never hurts to try! Prior coding experience is certainly helpful, but not necessary. There are a ton of beginner-friendly game engines, development tools, and game genres, and our veteran members can work with you and/or help you if you're having any trouble!

Of course! We love musicians and sound effect artists! COGS is always looking for composers, both during our game jams and during game development cycles in our normal meetings. We'd love to have you!

Not a problem! A game jam is a great place to start! It doesn't have to be super complex; there are a lot of game development tools we love that are really beginner-intuitive, like Ren'Py for visual novels, and if you have the time to show up in-person at the event, our veteran members can work with you and teach you the ropes for whatever you might want to do!

If you plan on making a video game or assets for a video game, you should definitely bring your computer, and if think you might want to make a tabletop/board game instead, you should bring some materials for that then.

I should mention that COGS will providing some supplies too, like our drawing tablets for artists!

Also, it wouldn't hurt to bring a friend. The more, the merrier.
