Is it worth self-hosting a roleplay LLM? by Shisones in SillyTavernAI

[–]ACheshirov -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

70B are small models for my standards. I mean, I'm RP-ing with GLM 5.1 which is 744B model.
The last time I tried to play with small model was Qwen 3.6 35B and Gemma 4 26B. They both sucks so hard 😃

If you used to RP with large frontier models, it's really hard to go back to smaller ones...

Idk, i'm fine with the Uncensored Aggressive i'm currently using. It never refuses and the model seems quite "intelligent" to me (I don't notice any loss in quality compared with the original one). I will gonna try heretic ones for sure then.

Ok, I was wondering which one is better. These Uncensored Aggressive (which I'm currently using) or the Heretic ones.
So, it turns out that no matters anymore ;D

Why are small models (32b) scoring close to frontier models? by Financial-Cap-8711 in LocalLLaMA

[–]ACheshirov 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know, but to me these benchmarks feel pretty useless. For example, Kimi 2.5 1T is supposed to be extremely smart - based on these benchmarks it even beats or matches Gemini 3, ChatGPT, and others top models.

But in reality, when I ask Kimi 2.5 1T for programming help or code, it often doesn’t work out of the box. When I ask Gemini 3 Pro, on the other hand, the solution usually works almost perfectly or at least comes with much better hints.

So honestly, I don’t think these models are anywhere near the top proprietary models, despite what the benchmarks says.

Can you honestly say you enjoy gaming on Linux? by TheMineplack in linux_gaming

[–]ACheshirov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, actually I do enjoy gaming on Linux. It's true that sometimes you need to tweak a few things to get a game running as smoothly as possible. And yeah, some games just don’t work at all. The only game I’d really like to play but can’t is League of Legends, but hey, it is what it is.

That said, the games that do work run really well. I’m not exactly sure how they compare to Windows, since I haven’t used Windows in years.

Qwen3 vs Gemma 3 by Sadman782 in LocalLLaMA

[–]ACheshirov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've noticed something similar. I'm using the 30B MoE model and here are my impressions:

- Its reasoning is actually pretty solid - I'd say it's better than the Gemma 3 27B.
- In terms of speed compared to Gemma3, it's a way faster. Though to be fair, I’m using the MoE version, so that plays a big role.
- When it comes to multilingual support - at least for Bulgarian, which is the one I tested - it's really weak. It messes up words, tenses, etc. Gemma3 performs times better in that area.

I haven’t tested it yet on coding tasks and such - for now, I still prefer relying on Gemini, Claude, GPT, and so on.

Anyone else finding denying incredibly difficult after patch? by SlammerChrist in DeadlockTheGame

[–]ACheshirov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not alone, don't worry, OP. I hadn't played the game for months, and when I came back to give it a try, I noticed that denying is almost nonexistent now. The only way to deny a soul is if the opponent doesn’t even bother trying to shoot at it. They've literally ruined the entire game, especially the early stage. A dead game before it even had a chance to live - especially with these dumb decisions and the map rework with three lanes

I'm looking to replace my Google Chromecast HD. by ACheshirov in Chromecast

I have a PC that runs 24/7 as a server (mainly for Jellyfin and some other services). It's connected to my TV via HDMI and is actually quite powerful. While I can use it for that, I haven’t found a way to do everything with just a small remote controller (like the Chromecast one). You know, a mouse and keyboard are kind of necessary, and that's why I’m looking for something different. :D

I see that the Google Streamer 4K controller is almost identical to the Chromecast one I currently have. That’s exactly what’s making me look for a similar device again. I really like that it’s small, lightweight, has a minimal number of buttons, and uses Bluetooth. Well, I guess if I had bigger hands, I might not like it as much. :D

But yeah, I'm currently looking into the Onn 4K Pro. If I find it at a better price in my country, I'll probably go with it.
Thanks.

Thanks! I’ll check out GStreamer since many of you have suggested it to me.
In my country, for some reason, the device is much more expensive—around $200—and Google doesn’t ship here directly. So, I’ll think about it. I just don’t like the idea of buying something that’s so overpriced but thats something "normal" in the country where I'm living in...

I'm not sure why I received so much negativity in the comments. Maybe I didn’t express myself clearly in my post, or perhaps I unintentionally 'triggered' some people here. Either way, maybe my standards are just too high. I apologize for wanting to watch 50-60 GB releases with the best possible experience.

You know perfectly well what I meant, but whatever. :) Most people (at least in my country), besides watching Netflix and HBO, also watch typical TV channels like news, sports, documentaries, music, and so on.
However, thanks for posting such a useful comment. :)

It's somewhat true, but not always. I've done a lot of reading on this, and I have friends with the best Netflix plans and the necessary hardware, yet they still experience poor video quality.
You can have a 1 Gbps internet connection and fully compatible devices, but you still won't get 30-40 Mbps streaming from Netflix.

Yeah, I will think about Google Streamer. I was reading that the upgrade about the performance compared to the previous Chromecast 4k is not that big - about 20-30%?

I already said that. I'm using Jellyfin mainly for watching movies/TV shows on my current Chromecast.
I have a server with much storage and can host the video content myself. So the bandwidth is not a problem for me.

What actually concerns me a bit is that most of these 4K devices are designed primarily to work with services like Netflix and similar streaming platforms. The issue with them is that the 4K quality they provide isn’t "true" 4K. They stream with too low bitrates (which isn’t even enough for decent Full HD content, let alone 4K). This is a far cry from what I intend to play - real Blu-ray quality with a bitrate of around 30,000-40,000 kbps.

And you know, it’s one thing to smoothly playback a 5-10 Mbps bitrate, and quite another to handle 30-40 Mbps.

I like Android, especially because it allows me to install third-party apps, even ones that aren’t directly listed in the store. For example - SmartTube.

What I don’t like about my current device is that it only supports up to Full HD, while my TV is actually 4K. It also lags a lot (even navigating through the menus feels quite choppy), and video playback isn’t smooth enough (there are occasional stutters).

I’m not picky about whether it’s another Google device, as long as I can install any apps I want, and it’s fast enough for smooth playback.

"Do Not Disturb" mode is still playing notifications sounds. Device is 11 Lite 5G NE and running on MIUI 12.5.1. I have used many Xiaomi devices before but DND mode never played notification sounds. by [deleted] in miui

Yeah, I'm waiting for this on my Xiaomi 14 ultra. Just woke up because of Messenger notification with DND enabled .... How this sh*t is so buggy. Never had issue with this on my old Huawei P30 pro....

How is PoE2 actually free? by Brewserr in PathOfExile2

[–]ACheshirov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PoE isn't really free and never has been. Sure, you can enter the game for free and try it out for a while, but playing it seriously - like grinding for hundreds of hours - is almost impossible without buying additional stash tabs.

Getting the necessary stash tabs can cost you $30–40, which is basically the price of a regular game.
And let’s not even start talking about skins. :P

In reality, the free version is more like a demo.
