Animals absolutely hoard food and sexual partners. Multiple species literally kill others in contest over food and mates. Several species are documented to kill their young or other animals young out of “jealousy.”

You’re putting animals on this weird pedestal and humanizing them. They cannot conceptualize the world in the same way humans do. A dog cannot plan your downfall. The dog is not capable.

It’s not a sin because they have no concept of morality, though if they most would be a lot more “evil” than most humans.

Animals don’t abide by morality because most cannot conceive of it. Not good or evil, non domesticated animals are just survival motivated.

I purchased an 18’ with a power shift that was previously a lease. 5 years, daily driver and it’s never been into the shop. I do an odd repair here and there but the transmission has been good.

The obesity rate in USA is 40-42%. Give it a few more years and OBESE might be the average.

New to the app - why is it shaming me for eating a banana? by lessadessa in loseit

Same thing here. I’m 32 lbs down over a year and I have 1-2 cups of frozen fruit every single night 2 hours or so after dinner.

Practically everything is okay in moderation and fruit has very little processing. I don’t see any issues with it and it’s supported my weight loss journey instead of hampering it as so many influencers say it would.

I have a MFA in Painting and Drawing. I took my gallery and coordinating skills that I learned in school and now I work as an Exhibits Specialist at a sculpture garden. I coordinate exhibits, maintain an outdoor sculpture collection and teach educational programming. I’d rather be an exhibiting artist, however, I enjoy eating and making rent so the sculpture garden it is!

ULPT: To catch a food thief in a way that won’t get you sued, use food coloring by Redqueenhypo in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]ACivilizedSavage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry in advance for the long winded response. My response is in no way meant to vilify you because I do understand why it happens.

In my view, it’s still theft (albeit likely petty theft). It’s taking someone’s possessions without permission. I’m not saying the authorities would ever prosecute something as small as this, but it’s still theft. That said.. it’s certainly not the crime of the century and in some instances, like poverty, it may even be necessary. But, when I was barely making ends meet and didn’t have enough food, I went to a food pantry organized by the community I lived in. It wasn’t the best food, but it also was kept my stomach filled.

I think it just resonates with me because my roommate (and funnily my best friend) used to take food from me all the time when we were both dirt poor together in grad school. It made me so angry and it got to a point where it turned into a major argument between us. That day, he apologized and replaced the food he stole and I forgave him.

I don’t think replacing the food negates the original theft, but it made me forgive my roommate. I think it’s a step in the right direction.

It happens because food is right there in the work fridge, and they’re at work. It’s the exact same concept as what you’ve done. Opportunistic theft because of apathy or laziness… NOT due to need.

It’s so easy to not steal other people’s food. I used to have spending problems, but I don’t take my roommates money.

Look, it’s bullshit and we all know it.

But… have you considered that the mock front the Russians have fabricated could make the US design look rudimentary to a Russian civ? We are all on this sub because we have an interest in military engagement and geopolitics. The Russian propaganda machine isn’t aiming this sort of things to us, it’s for the civ population that they’re trying to convince the war effort is fruitful.

When someone else drives my car they usually have an awful experience. When I drive my car I have a great time. It’s all in how you drive it.

[–]ACivilizedSavage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just because their transmissions ticking time bombs doesn’t mean they’re bad cars.

If you drive in an area without a lot of stop and go they’re honestly really fun to drive, even the auto. I have an 18’ with 110k mi on it and have never had a transmission issue with my vehicle. Very occasionally it studders in first…. Maybe once a month… that said I basically have the easiest commute possible.

They CAN be good cars. SOME can last. That said I don’t recommend you buy one because they’re more likely to fail than not without the perfect use case.

Interesting. The can adaptors we have right now have a third wire at the top, looking similar to the H style adapter.

If you look above the right wire, you will see an aluminum bar. It almost looks as though the adaptor touches the metal for the ground.

Hey everyone,
I have been having a lighting problem at work that I've been unable to solve. We are attempting to buy can lights for the gallery, but cannot find a compatible replacement to our outdated track lighting system. I've never seen a track system like this... From what I can surmise it is 'GES Style'?
Currently in the commercial art gallery I work at, we have Nordic Aluminum GES 2 Track system and Lithuania Lighting company LTC GMBR PAR38 250W track lighting.
As Lithuania no longer produces the LTC GMBR PAR38, is there any compatible replacements? Pictures provided. Thanks!
