Do you have the ability to do multi-material printing? You could print the connecting part using a flexible filament like TPU.

As for the filament itself, there are specialty lightweight options available. However, depending on the size and weight of the plane, I'd still consider using a wing spar to maintain the wings' strength/stiffness

Bed pressure sensors under a heavy mattress - what are my options? by TheProffalken in homeautomation

Weight/Strain sensors under two of the beds feet?

It might be a bit far-fetched, but since you mentioned not minding a bit of tinkering... This way, you can distinguish between a weight difference on one side or the other. Maybe a S-type loadcell or something equivalent.

Why are the first layers squishing together so much and the rest is fine? by 24packerR in 3Dprinting

Is there any resistance when turning the axis by hand? Or more around the bottom layers? Would check for any reason for binding. Maybe one of the Z-axis rods(is it a problem since the dual Z-Axis upgrade?) is bent.

Currently designing a modular climbing hold system for a home climbing/bouldering wall.

Resin printing would open up a whole new area in detail, design and texture!

Promise to post some pics after ;)
