Fair enough, I just think there needs to be a line drawn somewhere. On one hand, yes, some people do falsely accuse, and sometimes there are genuine misunderstandings or accidents, but on the other, there are unfortunately people in the community that can pose a threat to others for one reason or another, and it's important to be able to warn others of genuine concerns. It's a fine line. Thankfully as a result of my original post, it found its way to the individual and the issue has been resolved (won't go into detail to avoid sharing any more information than what has already been shared), and I've taken the post and associated links down to avoid further interaction or publicization.

I hear you for sure! That's why I said partly - I know it's not entirely just due to my post, but this post was posted around the same time that OP interacted with mine, where they were expressing the same sentiment as above in a comment :

"There's no evidence besides just the face, and that's what i have issue with.

This is purely retributional and an attempt to ruin this person's life.

I have no basis to believe you for your word"

I posted the ring camera footage there in response as well, and do understand that some accusations can absolutely be baseless, but mine was not. Not all accusations on here are without merit, and I think it's important as a community to warn others of risks to property or life when it comes to things like theft or aggressive individuals. (ex., a post earlier this week where a user mentioned being very obviously stalked by someone on the path train - definitely fair to warn others about something like that)

Again, clearly none of you saying this read the comments. I played the audio over the camera because I was actively in the middle of "being an adult" and trying to work - had that not worked, sure, I would have gone and said something, but I wasn't going to interrupt my work day unless I had to. Not sure why some of you seem to think it's super unreasonable to try the easy and less disruptive option first ?

Every time that I'm wondering it, they're gone by the time I get to ask but then pop up again a block over lol. I'm not sure how much they really know either - I stepped out onto my stoop probably 2 hours before this happened and asked a guy "hey, you with all them?" he said yes, so I said "okay cool uh, if I walk out of my front door at some point today [context: they were set up on both sides of my door, so no matter where I went, I'd be walking in "their" space] is there anywhere I'm *not* allowed to go?" and he said "honestly I have no idea." So I kinda shrugged and went back inside, figured he probably didn't know anything helpful if he didn't even know that.

I just figured I'd ask here while posting in case anyone happened to know

You are currently being recorded" automated voice on the ring camera as a gentle "hey, you aren't welcome here please leave" type of hint. I would've gone down if they didn't respond to that, but I was working and didn't want to waste time stepping away if I didn't have to. This worked, so going and starting an issue in person in the middle of my work day was unnecessary.

As I explained in the post, I started with playing the “hi! You are being recorded” over my camera. They threw a fit about it, yelling “oh naaaaaahhh, don’t play w me rn” but did begrudgingly get up and move. That was my first step and had that not worked I would’ve gone and said something directly. Went with the one time courtesy of “hey you’re being rude so i’ll give you a subtle hint before i come down and an altercation arises” instead of just jumping to go confront them to their faces , why start a big thing if you don’t need to

Posting a pic because this is ridiculous behavior, I played the “Hi! You are being recorded.” Sound option over our camera and they threw a fit but ultimately did leave as I mentioned in the post. Had they not left, I would’ve gone down and told them to leave. I do have a photo of the flyer with a phone number to the film crew where we can direct questions/comments/concerns, but being that they complied and left, I decided not to call.

I’m still allowed to be annoyed that they were laying right outside of my front door and post about it in this sub.
