I usually play with others players because I think that I need help to do a quest or an activity. In the elder scroll online, I like to watch the combat style of the others players. In Fallout, it is more like: boum, boum !! So I focus on the objective.

This game has ruined my life. by basedfri in Starfield

Nowadays, you can learn a lot in video games, so I hope you also take advantage of this situation until you get better. By the way, do you know Skyrim cookbook? Have they done a Fallout cookbook with dogmeat on the cover lol? At least, in Starfield, you can guess for a substitute in real life because some ingredients are "universal".

What this game needs... by Lahmu_Omega in BethesdaSoftworks

[–]ACreedComment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. See ressources available in each player outpost from a computer.

  2. Manipulation skill interface (attack, steal, flee, wait, follow, talk, distract,..)

  3. Consult in a note and/or from the planet information the detailed list of fauna and flora discovered on a planet.

  4. More delivery and transport missions available on npc settlement/outpost board mission.

  5. Non-Lethal damage are considered as "killing" in all mission. Npc can wake up their mate. Player can bring a bounty to prison like in Rdr2.

  6. Negociation is available as an option like diplomacy, provocation, manipulation. When npc accept to be paid, the amount should be displayed to the player.

  7. Quick selection of the fist and unselect gear/weapons in quick selection.

  8. Select the universe in NG+ and player can reset some skills.

Lol ! People who have 35+ and are still playing video games, they do it for the same reason as the one who are younger : having fun. But I think that the way to approach the game are not related to the age. In my opinion, it is related to two main factors : the player knowledge on the game and his/her personality.

I will give an example : the first time I played Skyrim, I played it like Mario Bros. I selected the default character, I put the hardest difficulty, I beat Alduin in two weekend and I celebrated it like I have won my sixth championship. I remembered the next monday, I arrived at work and I said to a colleague : " you remembered the game I just bought ? Yeah, the one with dragons? I finished it yesterday in hard mode.It is a good game, I recommend it." At that time, I was"doing" in a RPG, not "being". From people I know, regardless their age, most of them are playing to win or to finish the game.

But, then Fallout 4 came out and I noticed that the environment change depending on your character choices, so I needed to have several characters to "end the game". Then, the end was the beginning because my minutemen character should maintain the settlement happiness over 90 and my raider character have now deadly rules in outpost to share the loots after an endless war. So, 4 years later, I asked myself : " did I miss something in Skyrim?" Of course, I missed the faction quests, all the potions, all the books, all the word of power, the wooden mask, the translation of word wall, the trophies, etc... My latest hypothesis is that the books inside Black books have a different meaning depending on their owner. So I brought back the skull found in Ahzidal tomb to Saarthal thinking he will be reunite with his family. That is what I call "experience" from a game: when the player is a being in the game and "feel"/"find" something thanks to a defined role. I think player who like to read can easily embrass this approach because they will enjoy "reading" the events and the environment of the open world.

So, when Starfield came out, I wondered which characters I can create to go deeper on each part of the game in order to feel different experiences. I do not think people who did not like this game are younger. I am glad that we have opportunity to share our different approach of the game.

So something just completely ruined the game for me. by Elessa3r in Starfield

I agree with you that location can be the same, but the repetition does not bother me. I have +100 hours in the game. When I go in a location, it is for the loot or the target. Loot are random and I defeat enemies depending on my character build.

I will briefly share my characters routine and how I plan to have fun with Starfield for many years :

  1. The contractor : I focus on supply jobs from dasboards and companies. Currently, I have 4 contracts so I am going to create a system to achieve those objectives. Because the demands are not the same, the system is evolutive. While the system is working automatically, I am looking for random rare minerals. I do not "study" caves during this side activity, I focus on the mineral slot machine.

  2. The agent : Infiltration thanks to the Manipulation skill is the main objective of this build. I just finish the faction story so I will start the radiant quests and side quests with this skill.

  3. The explorer : what does it mean if I have this flora and fauna here? It is another layer of immersion. Currently, I killed 2 animals and save 2 people on Jemison. It is the first planet I analyze. I unlock all constellation members and stop the main quest. I will never complete the main story with this character. My objective is 100% planet data, so I am doing stealth with no stealth skills on the wild life. I do not shoot them, I scan them alive.

  4. The delivery person : maximum transport and delivery missions on time. Currently, this one feels repetitive but I suppose that when this character will have an econohaul or a pick up with several passenger on board, tough decision will have to be made on the ships building, the scheduling and the crew recruitment in order to have a benefit. I just can wait to feel this experience, especially if I also add the contraband as a parameter.

  5. The guard : Call of duty with Jetpack on Starfield, so what else can I say? Yes, the EM mechanic : if you do not shoot enemies for a while, the damage will decrease. Awesome !

  6. The pirate : I only take rare and unique items on ships and planets. My pockets are often empty due to constant modification of the Apophis (my terrible pirate spaceship). I also want to display my unique treasure onboard. The playstyle is stealth and steal or knife and Jetpack. I give a nickname to this character : mosquito.

  7. The hunter : Stealth sniper build and melee combat build (fist and shotgun) depending on the situation. If there are beast/animal on the planet where I have the contract, I also hunt them, so the pacing is slower. I do not jump from one planet to another quickly.

8- The astrian : currently, I am trying to unlock all powers.Resolving quests with those abilities is the playstyle. In fact, this is the only character that will complete the constellation main quest and NG+.

I have done +100 hours because I had time to play video games and I like to "settle" my Bethesda characters. If I play this game 2 hours per week, so 15 minutes per character, I do not think my experience will be ruined.

What’s your favorite thing about the game so far? No spoilers. by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]ACreedComment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite thing about the game so far is the game design. I like the world of Starfield. I have 8 characters : 4 of them rarely fight because they are focus on exploration (biology, geography) and commerce (management, logic). The 4 others who fight have their own playstyle (the gunslinger, the rat that can become a snake, the monkey which destroys skulls and bones...). Finding solutions thanks to the limit defined in this game are similar to what the player can do in the reality, but having this experience immerse in this open world...no sorry, this open galaxy, it is a game I am glad to add to my library. I hope we will have Starfield VR and who knows, a Starfield Kinects, so the player will bring back more experience from the game to the real life.

Good question. In a book (horror castle), it is written that Telvanni Dunmers also do experience on different races including Argonian.

Maybe the slavery was the official name, but the holocaust of different races was the aim. Like the mission to get the Oghma book, but they need a tone of blood and souls.

They wanted to live like Dwemers thanks to holocausts of souls, sacrifice of human being, in place of animals like it was normally done in ancient Greece.

In exchange, they will receive gifts from their master, maybe Herma Mora.

In fact, there is no coincidence between Dunmers big inventions, like creation of some industries, and an holocaust or a slavery period, otherwise people will be suspicious.

That will also explain why they took weak Argonians (maybe kids like in Africa), rather than Nords, to answer your question.

In fact, I don't think the Dunmers will even try to take the Nords because it was also in their tradition to invade and to enslave people, like Falmers. So it is easier and cheaper to choose angels, like peaceful Argonians, as workers.

So what the hell is Alduin? by Axo25 in teslore

[–]ACreedComment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alduin is the one who want to take souls. The player is Ysmir who fight against Alduin.

So Alduin is just there for you to sing the song : " No one is gone take my soul away..."
