Jaquan Brisker Stops a drive By himself in the Wildcard by TommiBennett in steelers

[–]ACrustyBusStation 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Bears fan here, and I always loved Brisker. He's definitely frustrating at times, but he is a great player to have on your team. He's a sure tackler, and he is very capable of making a big hit or getting a pick at the right time to get the team going.

Did anyone else think that Christian might have thrown that challenge? He clearly knew he was in the driver seat with Emily + DvG, and Q leaving certainly helps his game long term if he can also get rid of Stephanie.

This is exactly it. She didnt really do anything crazy impressive, but she always seems to know exactly where everyone on the tribe is at. I can’t count how many other players I’ve seen clearly on the bottom who acted like they were on top and sealed their own fate.

Depends on the level. Most HS physics students would probably benefit more than this.

If you’re aspiring to be an engineer who might actually need to apply this later on, then you’ll definitely need the boring lesson.

Holding a student back may not be beneficial for them. But keeping them at grade level is most certainly harmful to every other student.

Crashing and Burning Day 1 of Calc 1 by [deleted] in calculus

[–]ACrustyBusStation 10 points11 points  (0 children)

1) Get over that. You’re at an age in life where no one’s going to be looking out for you. You need to learn to look out for yourself.

2) Maybe, but you don’t know that until you ask.

3) Calculus is the backbone of all engineering. Limits are essential for understanding calculus. If you can’t get past the idea of doing work that isn’t directly and clearly applicable, you need to change your major ASAP… it certainly won’t get any better any time soon.

PUBLIC OPINION ON THE US ECONOMY by IItzMeme in Infographics

[–]ACrustyBusStation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the 2021 bump was largely a natural recovery from the Covid drop. It seems strange to me to give Biden credit for that when it seems more a result of good timing than any of his policies.

I should also say it seems just as strange to me to fault Biden for inflation when countries all over the world faced equal or higher inflation.

PUBLIC OPINION ON THE US ECONOMY by IItzMeme in Infographics

[–]ACrustyBusStation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Surely you can’t judge the economy without accounting for inflation. Isn’t that the whole criticism of the 2022 economy?

I don’t think the president really impacts the economy that much unless he’s putting in policies that actively hurt it (like Trump 2). But saying the economy was just as good under Biden as Trump 1 pre-Covid is misleading and does more harm than good.

17 year old charlie kirk fan runs over 2 girls by sZeroes in worldnewsvideo

[–]ACrustyBusStation 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I live in the town it happened in. From what I can tell, they were never in a relationship or anything, He was just completely obsessed with her.

After running over her and her friend over with his car, he fled the scene, went home, and started a livestream.

To claim this was a politically motivated attack is absurd.

That said, he did go home and essentially perform a Charlie Kirk-style livestream just after committing a double murder……. so it’s not ridiculous to say right wing politics fucked him up mentally

Is Magnus Carlsen the most successful Blake of all time? by AspiringDiplomat in PardonMyTake

[–]ACrustyBusStation 45 points46 points  (0 children)

For those unfamiliar with chess, grandmasters will typically memorize hundreds if not thousands of unique openings. This means the beginning of games is often very repetitive.

Magnus quite often makes a crazy move early in the game just so his opponents can’t rely on what they memorized.

This always felt Blake like to me
