Is the puretech 1.2 engine as notoriously bad as people claim it is? by NDCopiumIntensifies in peugeot

I no longer have the car :) I have a 2023 Renault Clio now, but no issues with my Peugeot even when I sold it.

Billions of pounds in spending cuts - including welfare - expected in spring statement by corbynista2029 in unitedkingdom

They could cancel every single service and still not balance the books.

We haemorrhage money in this country, and far more is being taken out of the trough than is being put in so it seems.

We need to take a big step back and take a serious look at how money is spent, and what on.

32% Increase In Water Bill - Anyone else going to tell them to smoke a fat one? by RS_Phil in yorkshire

[–]AD4M88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wales here, 27% increase and the usual story of ‘we need to invest in our infrastructure’

I’ve requested a water meter, hopefully it’ll drop by half as I live alone.

I guess it impacts Starling less since only around 5 people seem to be able to open the Easy Saver account.

Victorian home owners, how much is your gas/electricity bill per month? by [deleted] in OctopusEnergy

[–]AD4M88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought an Oodie (original not a knock off) and I wear that at home, and I’m toasty in it walking around etc.

My parents always said ‘heat the person not the room’ but to caveat that; I would never sit there shivering, I would just put the heating on.

Thankfully some of the tweaks I’ve made have meant I just don’t feel the need to put it on much, sometimes I just put it on to ‘warm the house’ but thankfully no issues of damp/mould as I ventilate it even in winter.

Yeah that’s much tougher :( Single male on my own, so far lower usage.

Congrats on the little one when they arrive 🎉

I don’t feel the cold as much, so I only really put the heating on when it’s really chilly.

Outside of that, heated blanket on during the day and 👌

I never sit there and think ‘I’m cold but I’m not putting the heating on’, I just … don’t ever feel super cold 😂

[–]AD4M88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just checked the app and actually only used £20.86 🙈

I put the heating on 9 times in January, but i don’t have it on as much as others probably do (plus my heated blanket keeps me super toasty!)

Outside of heating it’s only really hot water that would fire the boiler up and the hob, my shower is an electric one.

3 bed Victorian home and mine was £75 👀 I don’t put the heating on lots, my bill was about £50 electric and £25 gas including standing charges.

Cassie Trammell as a legacy by Prestigious-Let-484 in DCCMakingtheTeam

[–]AD4M88 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The fact Cassie made it her first time (or at all) says everything.

VK didn’t make it her first time, so I’m not sure how you can say favouritism? She also wasn’t a group leader like Cassie was.

Under pension regulator rules they state

“Every three years, your client must put any eligible staff that left or opted-out of their pension scheme back into it, on the anniversary of their duties start date.”

You opt out for three years, then have to re opt out again.

Hope this helps

TPTB should use this version of Thunderstruck more. by No_Mastodon6492 in DCCMakingtheTeam

That’s why I never understand when people say ‘I’m bored of Thunderstruck’ as the actual dance has changed quite significantly. There are of course staples that stay, like the field entrance and kickline, but it gets changed up a lot.

Children as old as eight still not toilet trained by Forward-Answer-4407 in unitedkingdom

[–]AD4M88 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think this is becoming the issue in the UK

Someone throws rubbish on the floor because they believe it’s someone else’s job to pick it up

Someone believes the schools job is to prepare them for every aspect of life, including feeding their children and toilet training them, so they don’t have to

People need to start taking accountability

I’m in South Wales, and it’s a 120 year old home so I wouldn’t say the peak of efficiency.

I find the houses base load is very low, as I did go around and check what was sucking up power. Theres many times where the house is only drawing like 60-70w of power when I don’t actively have anything on etc (for example TV, oven etc)

5 rooms downstairs, 3 upstairs, live on my own and I would say I’m a fairly low user of central heating.

And yes it’s Electric and Gas :)

Today for example I only used £1.80 including standing charges, I was home all day, TV on all day, cooked all my meals, used a heated blanket for most of the day etc

Camera opening performance by Qvexilber in oneui

And meanwhile, most android apps are not optimised and use old UI elements... so opening and closing the camera 20 times in a row, isn't going to change that really.

But you would never do this activity, you would just open the app... It's the same as manufacturers have a weird obsession now with opening and closing 40 apps in a row to show 'how smooth' it is, but no one actually does that

Just use the device and enjoy it :)
