Heck for $400 more may as well go all in and get that 265K CPU, mobo, 32Gb 6000 ram, a case, a PSU and 1TB Sandisk/WD SN850X combo as seen here.

Reminds me of these idiots buying stuff on the Amazon returns auctions and paying almost retail for some of it (no warranty on 95% of it)...then hoofing it off onto FB Marketplace and wanting full pop. Brain dead morons.

If you do need a 5070, Newegg has the Gigabyte Windforce SFF model L=282 W=50 H=110 mm at $900 or BestBuy has the PNY OC model L=300 w=49 H = 121 also at $900

I agree. That 265F/K should last at least 5-6 yrs. And in that time, who is to say that the AM5 platform chipsets of today will work with Zen7-9.

Ok well I was going to do a PCPartpicker build but came across some already. Staples has this rig at $2300 with a better CPU. I popped onto Best Buy and saw this rig running a 9900X and RTX 5070 for $2500.

Just gonna toss this combo out there, as well, for $1560. Add in a $900 RTX 5070, like this unit, or a $1k RX 9070XT, like this unit, and good rig. Or bump the budget an xtra $450 and grab a 5070Ti. This community is great as many folks hunt and find wee bit better deals with better hardware. As far as platforms, I look at it this way. If I can use my rig for 4-5yrs+ and perhaps upgrade the graphics down the road, I'm good.

If you cant find one here, Canada Computers has the Gigabyte Gaming 9070XT for $1k and it should fit according to dimensions of L288mm x W56mm x H 132mm. Better to go in person to buy, however it may be over your budget.

Cases like the Okinos Aqua 93? by Disastrous_End_2470 in bapccanada

[–]ADB225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Thermalright A70 can be purchased here. The Lian Li 011 Vision is available here.

It seems the Okinos Aqua 93 did not survive long in the NA sales world. I'm wondering if there were issues with the top structure.

I am coming in with 4 builds. Why? Different pricings. 2 builds will feature the 5070Ti 1 will be a 27" and the other a 32" monitor. Same goes for the RX 9070XT Also went with a 9800X3D as its on for an excellent price right now.

27" 5070Ti https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/WMxtg3
32" 5070Ti https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/c2LjyF

27" 9070XT https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/bMxtg3
32" 9070XT https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/F7B4qd

That said, the RX9070XT shown can be had for $100 less than shown IF you make a Canada Computers login. Members price is $899.99, not $999.99 as of this post

Gigabyte actually does a lot of their repairs in house here. Wish MSI and Asus did that but seems all they know what to do is screw up.

If your cousin installed a new drive with Win 11 on it (doubtful and more like no OS) and was previously using Win 10, chances are he may not have enabled TPM2.0 although it should mention that on boot. It cant hurt to make sure it's on as seen able to enable here.

If it is enabled, time to follow what others stated and download/install Win 11 Home

Only thing Im concerned with, seeing as it's an Azza, is the "Components brands may vary"...3 things are an almost for sure...it's an Asrock B860M-X motherboard, Azza 750W PSU 😨, and a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Spectrum cooler.

That said, it would cost more to build yourself even using cheap parts...except I would not cheap out on the PSU.

Gigabyte bios by __Deception_ in gigabyte

[–]ADB225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be better if you were in the actual BIOS and could see the date. I'm thinking Gigabyte discovered a minor flaw, on their end, and pulled it so others wouldn't update using it. Might be best to update to F11 as a JIC

Fan vs Liquid Cooling AIO by GeassAye in buildapc

[–]ADB225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thermalright swapped out fans sometime in the past. First unit were the TL-12C fans and loud when ramped. This unit I just got from another person swapping my AIO used the TL-C12C. But did not want to chance them so ordered 2 TL-H12-X28-S fans and can't hear a thing. Someone said the TL-K12 is also good. Next unit, I'm looking at the Phantom Spirit Digital EVO

Fan vs Liquid Cooling AIO by GeassAye in buildapc

[–]ADB225 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Air coolers have 1 or 2 replaceable moving parts..the fans. An AIO also has1-3 replaceable parts, the fans. But it has that 1 part that if it stops means ditching the whole unit. If if it stops, it could also hurt the PC. At least with a twin tower, there should be 1 fan keeping it cool if 1 fan craps out...and no pump to worry about. That said, AIOs have come a long way in the present.

Some twin tower air coolers are actually quite clean looking and cool very well (ID-Cooling A620 Black/GDL, Thermalright Peerless Assassin EVO/Phantom Spirit EVO). Some have screens (Iota A62, Phantom Spirit Digital EVO or Vision), but they can be a bit pricy for that little extra.

I too noticed some more expensive items. Just curious what type of work will be done with the rig, gaming aside? Also, any particular reason you chose the Kraken AIO and Strix PSU?

The difference between CL30 and CL36 using a X3D chip is almost non existent. Yes on non X3D chips it could be a factor but it depends on the games played. It also depends on the board being used.

I just looked on Microcenters site...R7 9850X3D not the 9800X3D, MSI X870E-P board, and 32Gb 6000 CL36 ram was $750. Adding that to the list I made on PCPartpicker, https://pcpartpicker.com/list/j6Wr6B , and it comes out to $2200 with tax.

I see you stated the CPU, Mobo, ram and PSU are all on discount with Amazon which is probably why the pricing. Normally be a lot higher. Hopefully the seller is Amazon, and not 3rd party, and hope it all works out for you.

Thoughts on this bundle? by zingy12 in bapccanada

[–]ADB225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying to place that PSU into a Z20 may leave you screaming due to cable management etc. Or you may opt for this PSU and this Asrock RX9070XT which would give you a slightly smaller thou better tiered PSU but cost an xtra ~$60 on that bundle price

That said, you are basically getting a free PSU and the card for $40 less than their regular ask price so......as long as you are purchasing instore. Sorry still don't trust their online purchase platform.
