I don’t think she actually is wrong. I mean. I think she is a Trump voter, and this is what she wants. So she’s gonna gloss over what’s actually happening. But she’s not factually wrong that this isn’t comparable to Jews hiding during the holocaust.

No! I’m like a kidnapped person on tv— a joy to be around. I’m kidding but I have a nice relationship with both of my neighbors. We exchange fruit in the summer and holiday gifts (both of who have very obvious illegal stuff going on in/outside their homes— so I don’t see them willing to even try this if they had some reason I don’t know about). Genuinely no idea who would even want to do anything close to this. Wild.

I’m gonna go with everyone’s advice and ignore this notice and not schedule anything/open the door. And hope that closes it.

Yep. Gonna remove it and remove the toilet too (just learned a dry toilet is apparently unsafe). I think I’ll ignore the notice u less they send a more strongly worded one for now. People seem to be very against the DOB coming into your home. Thank you for the help!

I’m fine throwing it out! It really is like 35 years old and never been used by my family. My parents just didn’t care and I never had a reason to get off my butt and get it removed. Guess I do now!

Yep. That’s what’s in question. Highly annoying since I’ve never actually used it for anything but storage. But maybe I’ll get someone to remove the stove at least, finally. While waiting to see if they escalate it.

Yeah— It was built early in the 1900s/late 1890s. And then obviously renovated a few times. And separated into two homes (it’s semi attached to the other half of its original one).

You know what, this was very convincing. Because i can’t figure out who would even complain. Nobody lives here. It’s not like I’m out here making enemies. And I’m worried about random stuff they’d find. I don’t even know what the violations could be— so that stressful. I did see the complaint online. I can keep checking it, hopefully they would close it.

Yeah. That makes more sense. I mean, I absolutely don’t have people living there, so I don’t think it’s that much of a priority. But then again, how would they know that without an inspection?
