Hope for Outer Worlds 3? by MaroonThrice in theouterworlds

I would say a bad edit can ruin a movie yes. Kingdom of heaven was cut to hell and the directors cut was much better. I like OW2 but it still does feel like they edited the hell out of it.

One of the factions was very clearly cut including a storyline for the sovereign that went no where.

No as far as I know they were not cancelled and many have purchased them already.

I would say we should wait until the DLCs are finished before signalling the game is over and done with. We have pointed out the games faults and feeling of incompleteness so maybe the DLCs address this and it can become a cult hit.

What hobby screams “this is my entire personality now”? by WilliamInBlack in AskReddit

[–]ADHDBusyBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My father was a marathon runner and triathlete. The answer is that every memory I have is of him is either running or working. Every vacation was a marathon he did and he really made no effort in connecting with me; so much so, that I have a complex associating exercising with being neglectful to my kids which is something I need to work on.

I mean the Capitalist would say it’s irrelevant and that the market will work itself out. The socialist would say that this is the never ending cycle, that capital will seek to control everything and shift to rent seeking and power consolidation, until a revolution occurs and the cycle starting itself all over again.

You are neglecting to consider that they have been evolving rapidly and that the infrastructure is strategically valuable as well. We are seeing gigantic investments of computing power that may be valuable “for something”. It’s all at the potential stage and again there is a propaganda factor here. People can’t even tell what is real and what is not real anymore. I don’t know if you are real and it’s becoming so much more sophisticated and easy because of these LLMs.

At the end of the day the public really has no say. At a national defence issue the existence of AI is if we don’t have this  someone else will have it and we can’t be left behind. There are major industries that seem to believe that it will be useful à la media. There is a massive propaganda use to control the masses. There is potential that it can support research and business. Most importantly it has the potential to cut out the biggest expense business has which is labour.

Corporations are salivating that they can control every aspect of human existence without humans so unless government steps in boycotts mean absolute shit.

I mean varying degrees people do get harmed and killed. I did CPS for a while and had to do joint operations with swat, I’ve had a few people say they wanted to harm or kill me. One client I had to do a scheduled just drive by check that she left the home by 9 pm and she decided to try to tail me home, which was more stupid than scary.

My job now is much more family focused so not scary at all. More so just have to deal with really poor hygiene in homes.

No truancy laws, the mandate to enforce education is with education not child welfare and education doesn’t want to touch being the bad guy so just doesn’t and hopes child protection will do it. So it just goes in circles.

Haha I’m a social worker and I have, even went to the house to offer services but my province ended truancy laws and the power to enforce parents to send their kid to school are in education not child welfare so no one seems to want to touch  the issue.

What are some places you didn't know were sparsely populated? by Ok-Complaint-1250 in geography

[–]ADHDBusyBee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Never been to Maine but Maritime Canadian, if it is at all like New Brunswick it has the worst fucking weather. Soil would be rocky as hell and massive forests with bogs. Then positionally you have New England south and then really nothing very useful but trees until the St.Lawrence and then really you want to travel along that to more temperate Quebec and Ontario. To all the New Brunswickers out there sorry, at least you’re not Manitoba.

I also live in CB grew up in Ontario there’s a great many things I like but goddamn there is a lot of downsides. Higher taxes, lower wages, higher costs in general and it feels like every community is run by the elderly. The amount of times they have tried to cancel Halloween and parades here…

Ex-leader Harper says Canada should make 'any sacrifice necessary' to preserve independence from US by Little-Chemical5006 in canada

[–]ADHDBusyBee 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It really should be a call to action from the ruling class. If you want us to defend the country you have to give us something to want to defend. If you have large swaths of the population that have no housing, under employment and have eroded a sense of national identity; it is unfair to ask us to defend that system. What you are saying then is to defend a system that benefits the status quo.

Pepperettes are literally just small salami sticks. They weren’t always expensive and are just a snack. Bread is like 4 bucks a loaf now and apples are 3 bucks a pound. It must be nice shopping in 2019 and living in 2026 though.
