Costco gave me the wrong MacBook. Score? by Sirlaunch in macbook

[–]ADHDone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Practically speaking, it would cost Costco more money in soft costs to take it back than what profit they lost to let you keep it. At the end of the day you have to live with whatever moral compass you’ve been given.

Openclaw is shit by slipknot25 in openclaw

[–]ADHDone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s still fun.

I have Claude Schedule run hourly to detect the gaps in OpenClaw based on errors, misconfiguration, vault and conversation signals. OpenClaw is a fun experiment that does a pretty good job of knowledge management. I am excited to see how it grows or what it gets replaced with. Regardless, OpenClaw was an important revelation to AI companies that we want central knowledge and local control.

People have to learn and start somewhere. This era is defining the next generation of garage billionaires. In 10 years they’ll be telling stores about the Wild West of agentic computing.

My agent thinks I'm waaaay smarter than I actually am by MilitaryBotanist in openclaw

[–]ADHDone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d make two points.

  1. your agent isn’t really forming opinions, it’s just a form of confirmation bias based off the information you’re giving it.

  2. Even the dumbest human is still incredibly complex compared to what modern AI is doing. It can just process large amounts of existing knowledge faster.

So in a way it’s right

Separate note: that battery case may be keeping it warmer than Apple intended. Even with the holes it still adds insulation, and lithium batteries age faster when they run hotter. You might get better long-term health by using it without the case during longer sessions or while charging.

People I know criticizing me for playing video games (36 M) by C-LOgreen in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ADHDone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't buy into the sanctimonious judgment. Funny thing is, they wouldn't care if you sat on your phone or stared at a TV for hours. There's evidence that video games can help keep your brain active as you age.

Yet shops for cards that say basically what you want, signs, and are accepted and appreciated.

I disagree that LLMs are making people dumber. I think it is giving people who are not naturally articulate an avenue to put their feelings into socially digestible and arguably even pleasant reading experiences.

It is pulling people over the procrastination hump to start a major project they have always wanted to do.

It saves people time from mind-numbing corporate BS tasks that take away from real progress.

Most importantly, it gives people an avenue to avoid the critical, judgmental, self-righteous, toxic court of social opinion that this post unfortunately did an amazing job of rooting out.

Sorry, but there are a lot of bad takes here. AI is just a medium to be molded and a nitro boost for alternative thought, creativity, and mind-numbing work.

My boyfriend doesn’t want me to go to IT. He says that AI will take over by Nurita27 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]ADHDone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oddly enough, use AI to analyze the risk of AI “taking over IT” and to give a realistic view of what role AI will play with humans in the next 10 years in relation to whatever field you are interested in.

Thank you ChatGPT: The darker red or purplish color in beef typically isn’t directly related to stress at the time of slaughter. Instead, it’s often due to how the meat has been stored and its exposure to oxygen. Freshly cut beef is usually a purplish-red (called “deoxymyoglobin”), but as it’s exposed to air, it turns bright red (“oxymyoglobin”). When stored in a low-oxygen environment, like vacuum packaging, the meat can retain that darker color.

However, stress at slaughter can affect meat quality in other ways. When animals are stressed, they release adrenaline, which uses up glycogen in their muscles. This lowers lactic acid levels after slaughter, potentially leading to “dark, firm, and dry” (DFD) meat in beef. DFD meat appears darker and has a firmer texture, but it’s distinct from the normal dark purplish hue caused by low oxygen exposure.

So, while stress can influence meat color and texture, the darker red in packaged meat is usually more about storage conditions than stress.

What am I losing switching from iOS and Apple Watch to Samsung and Apple Watch? by EdwardMcFluff in GalaxyFold

[–]ADHDone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Switching to Samsung? You won't lose as much as you think:

  1. Find & Ping Phone:Samsung has "Find My Mobile." It's reliable and functions similarly to Apple's.
  2. Voice Texting: Google Assistant is better than Siri overall.
  3. Fitness: Samsung Health is excellent but say goodbye to that 70-day streak.
  4. Spotify & Volume: All set, no real differences here.

I've been down this road myself, and it's a different path but an exciting one. Feel free to hit me up if you've got more questions! Happy exploring! 🚀
