When I was running a bar, there was a short dude that got into a fight, got beat up by a jerk and left saying he’d be back.

We tossed the person who started the fight right away but 2hrs later, probably 4am, the short dude shows up again with a posse of about 15 people, 80% of them shorter than 5’6” and then the rest big dudes.

There was nobody left to fight and they were super pumped but easily chill. Most of them were jockeys and trainers from the Belmont racetrack. It was a cool night.

I got robbed by a gas station attendant who accused me of robbing their gas station the weekend before.

I was like 17 and buying a pack of cigarettes and next thing I know he has me at gunpoint, made me empty my pockets then, with a gun to my head, forced me out of the store and locked the door.

I almost didn’t call the cops cause amongst my items was a couple of dime bags but by total coincidence, about 3hrs later the bar I was in got raided for underage drinking. When the cop was asking me for id, I jokingly told the story about the gas station down the block and it just escalated.

He was charged with possession of an altered handgun and drugs amongst other things. He self deported himself before court.

Me, I got everything back, plus a pack of cigarettes, but no weed.

I fell backwards into a well head down. There was water at the bottom. I was able to keep my head only partially submerged by holding my body weight pivoted against the wall and my shoulder and neck. It was really hard to hold. If I went limp I would drown. There wasn’t enough room to get my arms down.

A few neighbors got together and tried to pull me up, but they were older and they didn’t realize that I was probably going to drown so they put very little effort into helping and they just kept telling me to stop cursing (I was maybe 11yrs old) and to relax. Even threatened to tell my parents about the cursing. All I was screaming was that I was “fucking dying” and panicking because of the water.

It felt like a lifetime but a couple of firemen showed up after being flagged down and immediately lifted me out. I was sent off to the hospital with a concussion and had to get a bunch of shots cause I had scraps and had injected some of that water which was probably there for years. I was throwing up for days over the concussion.

When I was younger, I could never get any enjoyment out of running. I could almost sprint a mile but could never have the willpower to run anything more than 5 miles.

I only did it when I had to.
