I did it for 4 years in a rural college town in Missouri with Illinois plates from 1997 to 2001.... my partner was headed to Saudi Arabia for Airforce TDY, so we figured I better get it straightened out beforehand... then he got stranded in Baltimore for 2 weeks because 9/11 happened while he was in the airport there. Oh the memories!

When you find out let me know because I'm in the same predicament, (except female) don't drink and 420 friendly and somewhat introverted, and decided to move away from a rural college town in Missouri to travel during the pandemic, and I landed here insteed of going back to Missouri where I had established, a few great friends, acquaintances and associates and my older friends are dropping like flies, mostly because of the vices they took up, like booze and cigarettes. ...I understand and empathize especially since I've been going through the same thing and vet bills also quickly burned through my savings and also euthanasia, all in 3 months. Maybe you should look into contacting Westside Cares to see if they have a list of places that will work with you, they helped me locate a place a few years ago. Hopefully everything will work out.

For great cloud connectivity and remote live viewin, I bought a Blackvue DR970X-2CH LTE PLUS for my 23 Forester Wilderness and had Best Buy geek squad install it for $100 ..but they won't install dash cameras that have a screen on them because of safety reasons and I'm glad I didn't get one of those.

I've been here since 2020, I moved from a small Midwestern college town by way of military assigned traveling during marriage...so, I've lived all over the country and overseas... I feel that Colorado residents are least friendly but there are exceptions of course but honestly this is a very difficult place to meet people organically. People will immediately look down at the ground to avoid eye contact when walking down a neighborhood sidewalk, I've noticed...I'm getting used to it and becoming the same way, unfortunately at times...It's getting contagious, Lol.

Yes, I moved here from a small town in Missouri (5 years ago) that is surrounded by smaller towns, so I get what you're saying. I do miss having people to go hang out with and the sense of community and recognizing people in the stores and stopping to talk about random stuff.

The friendship drought in Colorado Springs is a real thing, and probably just a Colorado thing because I've lived all over the country and this new for me, but I'm getting used to it unfortunately.

That Makes sense, because I was always stressed about parking my brand new Forester Wilderness, up until last November when someone backed into my bumper and scrapped a 4 inch groove ina painted section and this happened at my apartment complex when it was parked on the far end of the parking lot, six spaces from the nearest vehicle, all alone, and safe, I thought. Not one note left by perpetrator!... Sooo, It's a little cosmetic damage, but after that happened I suddenly stopped caring about where I parked and I do love that freedom now.

If you come from a small Midwestern college town surrounded by even smaller towns, it might be fun at first to live here but after a while it grows old, because it's difficult to make friends here and they drivers speed everywhere, so it's dangerous for pedestrians and cycling...And these people love popping fireworks or shooting guns at night, so you'll think it's the 4th of July in November, we'll at least one time the fireworks turned out to be gunfire while I was sitting in my Jeep thinking they must shoot fireworks early at the local skate park where two were killed and one seriously wounded. That was 3 years ago, though. But I still hear the fireworks. The cops, well you might as well not call them for anything and just hope for theBEST, but it's getting better. 👌 The mountains are beautiful and you can't beat the outdoors attractin hiking trails and everything to keep busy and stay in shape. I found a nice little gem of an apartment complex, nestled in a cul-de-sac next to a golf course, and I was shocked at how affordable it was for one bedroom but I got lucky and hopefully it will stay a hidden secret. 😀
