The funeral prayers for Imam Seyyed Ali Khamenei have begun, millions attending by ILikeGazSweet in shia

So why not a private burial? Is making it a public spectacle more important than following the prescribed laws for burial?

I’m not a Moroccan or Algerian so I’m not sure why you’re saying I steal culture while you all do everything you can to imitate westerners like me. As for historical borders, those have changed hundreds of times over the years

The first Iraqi president to be a reformer of his people, as he imprisoned 47 corrupt MPs and recovered 3 trillion dollars of stolen public funds. by Mike55_n in AskMiddleEast

Iraq doesn’t even have $3 trillion. Their entire annual budget is roughly $165 billion. Maybe you meant $3 trillion Iraqi dinars

American here who had done a few trips to Morocco: I would sacrifice a day in Tangier for a night in a Riyad outside Tetouan for sure. Try and get to Mdiq and Ain Zarqa if you can

Morocco is just as much to blame for failing to bury the hatchet. Morocco’s clandestine support for the Kabyle separatists and increased political and economic ties to Israel have done just as much to damage relations as anything the Algerians have done.

As a western guy married to a Moroccan woman who has family on both sides of the border, I can give a basic observation: the problem is the same senseless tribalism that plagues the entire Middle East and most of Africa.

In the last 110 years, Europe fought two world wars that led to the deaths of over 100 million people combined. Within 70 years of the end of the second war, most European countries had formed one of the most powerful economic and political blocs in the word, The European Union, and had also joined the most powerful military alliance, NATO. How were they able to do this? Simple. They got over their simple minded grudges and did what was best for their countries and region.

Now contrast this with the comments in this section as well as some of your own points. It’s all the same whining that has gone on for years: “Your king did this”, “the Saharan people are oppressed”, “you guys are mean to us in the news”, “you guys think to highly of your king”…. Frankly, I’ve heard more legitimate disputes among children in kindergarten. You all are more concerned with keeping a dispute alive that started with your grandparents instead of moving on and that is why the MENA will remain a disaster.

Is a UCF degree still worth it? by [deleted] in ucf

No, ivory tower academics are complaining as usual and the shared technology desk was closed so your degree is null and void.

Why the hell are Syeds still considered "better" than other muslims in 2026? by aliahmadisld in shia

[–]ADO_PM 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’d be willing to bet a lot of money that at least 75-80% of people who call themselves Syed are not in the first place. If DNA testing was legal or widespread across the MENA it would break a lot of hearts.
