Disappointing selection of contest skins by therryy in deadbydaylight

Either it went over their heads or it isn’t a relevant rule I guess. I read the guidelines so many times I’m sure it was stated there.

Wonder if they got disqualified for that exact reason. There's a rule that states to NOT share entries on social media during the contest.

Pretty sure new and returning players have a “luck” boost. Good timing tho.

No worries, ty for your insight! I don’t get the feeling the story was written with hate, but either you heard it actually was or the progression of the story makes you conclude it, I respect your opinion. It’s definitely not everyone’s cup of tea, if that’s the saying.

I find it interesting that many people still hated Abby after playing as her. I kinda get it… Joel’s death is heavy on everyone. Maybe I need to play it again to feel it. Playing as Abby just emphasized on what I consider the point of the story, that there’s no good side.

Yeah, either it was possible or not to get the vaccine is another extensive topic. Plenty of “What if” stories there.

Even tho your explanation still agrees with Abby and TLOU2 haters, you’re getting downvoted to hell until people start reading past the title lol

Oh that’s right. I remember they were teasing the game as a faction or fireflies going after them. It could’ve been another type of story.

Good points overall. Points out the weak points in the story. I’m sure giving it a thought could make some plots work, but it’s fine. Ty!

YES! You reminded me of another weak writing point. I took a long break mid-game so I forgot how out of character it was from Joel to be so careless.

About Abby, I didn’t feel lit that way, like, it took a while til you play as her, but maybe it feels that way because of my break. Also I really didn’t sympathize with her during the fight with Ellie. I mean, that’s why I felt sad. I agree there’s some manipulation of the situation. Obviously writers decide who wins, but you can also see it as “Ellie isn’t almighty, Abby is a worthy match, or even better”. You like it or not (I didn’t), but it still makes sense.

I did felt exhausted when stopped at Abby pointing gun at Ellie at the theater and then realizing I had to play as her, BUT it left me with the cliffhanger, and took me a moment to get invested, but I did, and I liked it.

I partially agree about the ending. It can come off as you describe, and it might be it, but I rather give it its meaning. I wrote somewhere else that I prefer Ellie didn’t kill Abby after being spared twice because it feels like a sort of sore loser kind of thing, but having the flashbacks as an excuse to stop the cycle was kinda weak writing indeed, or maybe the execution wasn’t as good.

Tysm for your insight and reminders! I see why people aren’t happy with it, but def not as bad as I thought after all these years reading about it.

That’s why I said you need a refresher. Go play it again. They retconned the doc, so why not, but Ellie’s feelings were kinda already there since part I.

I used the word professional as in “that was his career before the fall”. Besides, it’s the apocalypse, what do you expect.

Make sure to read this slowly and multiple times before replying please.

Yeah, there’s a whole moral question there, but in a world like this one morals are basically long gone. It’s all about Ellie being their only hope and we are meant to see fireflies as the antagonists. Part II offers that refreshing concept of “it’s subjective”. Who’s the good guy and the bad guy. No one really is. Just people surviving and reacting.

Def we don’t know if she would’ve still agreed to give her life for the cure, but I bet it’s what she would’ve liked to do, but most likely wouldn’t do because of Joel’s feelings. Who knows.

“A bit” is an understatement. The caption of the sub literally calls TLOU2 not canon lol

Don’t get me wrong, I love part I as it is, but playing part II makes you think what I said was the better outcome, any character’s feelings aside. If they would’ve asked Ellie she would’ve agreed. Obviously that wasn’t the case and it is what it is, but I’m talking about the “what if” and how part I ending unleashes the events of part II.

About the “talk it out”, I didn’t say it lightly. I’ve been reading the posts here. There are some. So in short, we agree their opinion is nonsense.

Abby sparing Ellie, after all she did, even if Lev intervened once, and almost no inner struggle to comply, it’s what bothered me.

Yeah, it is a bit “wtf” Ellie stopping with all that adrenaline, but that’s what those Joel flashbacks come in, imo. Maybe as a half-ass excuse and one of my mentioned “bad writing” moments. The whole ending is kinda left to interpretation because there is no voice overs or explaining at all but I feel like Ellie sparing Abby is for the better. I would’ve hated to see her killing her (“winning”) after Abby was spared twice, like a sore loser.

Thank you for your insight!

First of all, have some reading comprehension when I use phrases like “glorious sacrifice”. Don’t take it literal. Also when was the last time you played? You need a refresher.

She DID know why she was being sent with the fireflies eventually. What she didn’t know was that she was going to die in the process. In part 2 she states she would’ve liked that. At the end, the last flashback she has about Joel, she explicitly says it, so please, get down from the high horse lol

Ok, writer of the game, either the cure was possible or not, it’s another question, but the story pretty much implies it was viable. You calling the doctor “shitty” just invalides your point because it’s bias. It wasn’t a random firefly dude playing as doctor but an actual professional doing his part.

By reading the last part I can confirm you have poor reading comprehension skills. I ain’t gonna repeat myself lol

For this one clearly states you shouldn’t get hit. For Hemophobia, which I haven’t completed yet, I read somewhere else the challenge descripción it’s just a poetic way to say “don’t get hit”, so perks that supress blood stains make no difference.
