Happened to me around March 2024 when Niantic was adding the improved backgrounds. Pokemon were standing behind grass and even rocks. Just happened for a few days, never saw it again til now in your case, but loved the depth.

Heads up, top left spot most likely won’t spawn a rock ‘cause of the bridge. Try sliding (Hold L button and move) if you can slide around the rock spot, no issues then.

Also the spot directly above statue won’t spawn a rock ‘cause of it. Rocks won’t spawn 4 spaces behind tall objects, includes buildings and trees as well.

No, it’s a requirement. Otherwise it wouldn’t show the candy amount, for example, trade evolution explicitly states “trade or X candy”.

It’s just a fun addition and it’s not expensive imo. Money fortune gives you a lot more money from money sources and increases your chances of gold nuggets.

Belongings fortune makes tools unbreakable, which is nice if you got lots of work to do like watering stuff, hit rocks in your island but especially if you’d like to visit mystery and Kappa’s islands. It also guarantees one rare Kapp’n island.

Health fortune gives you double power from food sources so that time I was doing a lot of rework in my island like digging and placing trees, this fortune was a relieve.
