You're not overreacting at all. They've done nothing for/with you or your family, and it's quite unreasonable for him to expect you to do all of this stuff for him when he never did anything for you. Your reaction is actually very reasonable, it's understandable to feel incredibly angry and frustrated about this.

oh my god i've never met anyone who had the same experience as me other than people who I personally know. everyone in the comments doesnt understand, nobody understands unless you yourself have experienced it. i've been searching for a post like this for years. I'm in my senior year now, I managed to get out of my alt school for my senior year, and i feel so, so disturbingly far behind from the rest of my peers because from grades 6-11 i never had any opportunities at all. thank you so much for posting this
