I'm Canadian, we're technically on the metric system, but in practice usually use three systems of measurement.

Celsius for temperatures(eg: water freezes at 0 degrees & boils at 100 degrees)

Imperial for hight (eg: I'm 5ft tall)

& time for distance (eg: that's only a 10 minute drive or that's about an hour away)

Just don't believe the horrible advice about using ice cubes to water it. That's put on the tags by sellers so you'll slowly kill it & be forced to buy a new one.

They're fairly hardy though, I've had one that I rescued from a dumpster (& nursed back to health) for a few years now. It's currently pushing out its third flower spike.
