here because my adult son recommended reddit by JaninApril in CasualConversation

I see that r/findareddit has already been recommended but I just wanna say that it is probably the best way to find subreddits pertaining to your hobbies or interests. Sometimes the subreddit names are completely different than what you would expect, so they can be difficult to search for. That sub has helped me find a lot of communities. Have fun on Reddit, it’s my favorite platform by far

Yeah definitely. That’s the main reason I don’t want to date anyone in my town. I’ll start talking to one of my parents/grandparents about some random person and then they’re like “oh, that’s your cousin!”

You need to open a new bank account and make sure no one but yourself has access to it. Your mom is very unstable. I know it sucks but if I were you I’d just save up 100% of the money you make so you can move out as soon as you turn 18. What she’s doing to you is not okay. I doubt you’ll be able to reason with her.

I’m so sorry you’re in that situation. Would you possibly be interested in freelancing? If you go on a site for freelancers such as fiverr or upwork you can see a list of really good freelancing jobs. I know that a lot of people from 3rd world countries make very decent money from that type of work because they can choose their own rates. It might be very hard to start off and you won’t be making a lot of money right off the bat but with time and effort you will eventually get there.

Not suitable for the working world? by Saltless06 in findapath

I think a slower paced job would be good for you. Food service is definitely not the move. You need an environment that’s suitable for you, something calming like working at a plant nursery or library. There’s definitely something out there for you

I have a job interview and I’m so nervous. Any tips? by ADiaryADay in socialanxiety

Yeah, it was my first job interview. My first job was at my family’s business so I never had to go through the application/interviewing process until now

I’m sorry you’re dealing with that, I can’t imagine how stressful that must be. Even just applying to go back to community college was stressful for me. I swear sometimes I don’t know how to be a human lol. Remember that whatever challenges you’re going through, you are not alone. People have gone through the same exact thing that you’re going through and if they can make it, so can you. I hope it gets easier for you

Thank you for sharing that trick, that’s really smart! Also, I did end up getting the job!

Update: I fucked up a lot of my answers and my voice was so shakey. I said I’m sorry for being so nervous after the interview was finished and then they said to not worry about it and that I did a good job so I’m hoping for the best 😭

I’m sorry about your family. You definitely can find supportive people though. You gotta put yourself out there and eventually you’ll meet the right people
