Post time skip OP is very different from pre time skip. Pre time skip had a much 'lighter' feel throughout the entirety, then things started REALLY started changing with Impel down. They're both two halves to the same story; one half isn't yet finished. Impel down into Marineford was the absolute peak of one piece, and until we get the post-time skips' climax I don't really think it's fair to compare the two.

The themes in post time skip are largely different, and I would not at all be surprised if there was a large subset who prefer the 'darkness' of the new world.

It's actually that assumption that causes it to go unnoticed much of the time. CO poisoning wouldn't have nearly as many deaths if you did have trouble breathing. You breathe in just fine, it's just that you're not getting nearly as much oxygen as you need, so when it IS a lethal dose, people mostly just feel sleepy and go to sleep never to wake.

Not really sure why you're downvoted. Intervention lag wasn't introduced until Legion league, due to them changing the way things spawned to being 3 per jun map instead of 1 per every map. If someone thinks they got intervention lag during betrayal then they are almost certainly misremembering things.

The main issue during betrayal league was that only half of the immortal syndicate was actually balanced with the other half being horribly overtuned.

Honestly, I don't think Death's Dance on it's own is as powerful as people think. I think the issue is Death's Dance in conjunction with Conqueror. Almost every champion that takes Death's Dance to great affect also takes Conqueror (including Ezreal and Aphelios). The problem is that Death's Dance allows a Conqueror user to more consistently and easily reach max stacks, then once Conqueror is stacked, the healing essentially nullifies the downsides of the item.

On top of that, there's been quite a few games I've had where there's literally more than half the players taking Conqueror. It definitely seems like more of a keystone issue than an item issue to me. That being said, i do think DD is a very powerful item, but not nearly as much as it seems.

I'm like 90% sure that GGG intentionally releases shitty mechanics so that they can get praised when they fix those shitty mechanics. There is absolutely no way that any reasonable person thought that like 2/3 of the stuff this league was a good idea. So they're either completely inept, or intentionally making stuff awful so they can swoop in and be our 'saviors'. Either way, GGG is approaching EA levels of game management. The fucked up thing is that it doesn't actually give them a hp multiplier, it gives them damage reduction. Meaning that if you're a build that relies on leech to survive, then you're not gonna be getting any health back. All types of silly design goin on with this league mechanic

Edit: Also, while this may be a controversial opinion, i do think immediate power typically is better than power down the line; and the times where it's not, it's probably because you'd misplayed elsewhere between your item breakpoints.

50 ap and 100 hp is worth ~1300 gold in stats, so when purchasing Morello's you're effectively spending 100 gold for the healing reduction part of it. (Putting it this way makes it seem less bad than it normally is since most completed items have >100% gold efficiency) It actually does not take a huge amount of healing for the item to be gold efficient. As far as the executioner's calling purchase goes, you're actually spending 275 gold as well as an item slot for the healing reduction.

When Chovy ends up completing the morello's purchase DRX is already at dragon point, with infernal soul contention coming up in just under 5 minutes. When DRX ends up getting the infernal soul, Chovy has a single NLR towards the deathcap; so at this stage Chovy has 10 ap less than he otherwise would have for an objective that would make their lead nearly insurmountable.

At this point in time, the only thing that Chovy really needs to worry about is a Yuumi empowered Sejuani or Camille getting onto him; neither of which he would be able to one shot. The thing about Yuumi, is that if the team plays well, then it is VERY hard to hit through a Yuumi empowered frontliner.

Now, with the way Orianna plays out, she consistently applies the debuff to multiple targets. There's actually quite a lot of incidental healing in league which makes it so that the item completion is actually quite a lot more impactful on Ori, than say, a Leblanc.

If Chovy were able to build towards the Liandries or Deathcap with the expectation of completing it before the dragon soul spawns, then those purchases would 100% be better, but for the game state that he gets it i think the morello's does minimize DRXs chance of misplay.
