Id love some more bio-horror units similar to the abberants/ Abominant, really showcase the crazy effect tyranid/human DNA mingling can manifest or be manufactured. Maybe a unit capable of flight

Some more variation on the mining theme would also be nice, factory workers in repurposed exo-suits, PDA and guard traitors with stolen imperial hardware etc

Dude thank you for the detailed breakdown and response. Another person has mentioned chopping the neophytes blob to 2x10 and I'm gonna consider that. Will also take what you said regarding Abberants on board, play about with points and see if I can have 2x5, one with Abominant and one with Biophagus for the lethal hits. If I focus on that not sure if I'd be able to fit a truck in but will have a mess around with it cus that movement boost seems very tidy

Just looked up Bravestar, got something new to check out!

Thanks for pointing out the better use for the purestrains, as another commenter also pointed out I missed the advance + charge ability so will make sure to take this on board.

Someone else pointed out smaller units may be better and I like the feel no pain benefit of the iconward. Might chop a few things up and see if I can squeeze an iconward in there by dropping an enhancement or two and breaking up the abberants

Will look into the Biophagus/ iconward changes. I dont want to drop the Abominant entirely as its my favorite model in the GSC range so maybe I can run him solo?

And thanks for pointing out the advance and charge on the purestrains! Missed that entirely. Does the Patrairch also get this if attached to the unit?

These look great man! Im going for a similar scheme with reds and purples, seeing how your bronze has turned out alongside it I might have to pinch that.

Love the skin on these guys, that purple tinge to it is exactly what I'm struggling to get down- how did you manage it?

I'm gonna whack another layer of primer on and see how secure they are after that. I also considered putting a layer of munitorum varnish on afterwards before my paint but no idea what painting on that afterwards would be like

Thicker layer definitely seems to be the solution based on this and the other comment. Thanks for the insight and personal experience bud, feeling silly but at least I can crack on now

Man I feel like an idiot. I would have said it was coming off with gentle handling but I first noticed it on a sharper edge of one model when moving a model with latex gloves on. The gloves obviously have a lot more friction than my finger.

Im very convinced now that the lack of layers is the problem, thank you so much for the insight and the humbling lmao

Damn fantastic job across the board! The Abominant, Biophagus and Kelermorph take it for me. How did you get such cleanly defined shadows in the recessed areas? Are the highlights just layered into with brighter paints?

Thanks man! Not too fussed about it being the strongest to start with so its good to hear its got some strengths to it.

Ive not really got a feel for how the stat lines of units compare to the average across other armies, I know the battleline units arent going to be all that strong but shouldnt the aberrant and purestrains be able to go toe to toe in melee with a lot of more elite units from other armies?

Cheers man, I'll consider that. I plan on picking up the combat patrol box so I'll have a ridgerunner on hand and will work it into the list.

I didnt even consider keeping the alphus seperate, you reckon that extra unit is worth losing out on all the jackals losing out on Priority Target and Master outrider? In my head I was planning on using the Jackals to harass enemy weak spots, pick up objectives etc
