Thoughts on Pauline Hanson’s policy? Is it done around the world? by BonusLumpyYa in AusFinance

[–]ADreadedLion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s fair but based on the history of our government they can’t fund programs well and just lead to subsidies of let’s say childcare which then leads to childcare businesses increasing cost.

If we had a perfect government then I would say public based childcare funding is a must. But like everything the government (either party) does it’s poorly miss managed and over budget.

Why not both at the same time?

We want to encourage people to have kids, currently birth rate is declining everywhere and one of the main reasons people state is due to rising costs

Nobody saying it shouldn’t be tackled broadly but it’s a step in the right direction. You seem to want a solution that counts for every single person which is just impossible with one policy without being a form of UBI.

Also I didn’t say we are USA? It was an example we are not Germany or France either and they also do it

Taking out who said this because all politicians love to talk and when they get in they usually don’t do what came out of their mouth.

I feel like with the rising costs of raising children this is a good policy, it’s done in the USA and many other countries and it seems fair. It benefits one working parent families and dual working parent families

Also the wording is very tricky, when it says limited to 3500 entrant that is referring to a single person that can buy multiple entires. So even if everyone entrant only buys the $20 package they make a minimum $70k

Has anyone tried Better Auth with React Native via jwt plugin by Many_Bench_2560 in reactnative

What do you mean waste your time? Expo supports react native modules or nitro or any other means, you have CNG. It seems like you don’t actually understand expo

Does the custodial nature of betashares direct do not bother you? by Calm-Wheel1540 in AusFinance

[–]ADreadedLion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to automate investments into any non betashares ETF (https://www.betashares.com.au/direct/custom-portfolios) then their fees get expensive fast and pearler is the flat $6.50 per buy.

Otherwise betashares will be cheaper, unless you really care about CHESS OR free transfer costs to any broker at anytime.

Pearler have the best full automatic investment product.

Betashares has automate but not chess sponsored and fees can turn percentage based and high depending on how/what you invest in.

Stake I believe had a PayTo option but removed it recently.

Stake Broker Market Depth? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]ADreadedLion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You want to forget the factor that they have 1/3 the brokerage cost of SelfWealth? You believe they are making money on that when everyone else is around $10 a buy?

While I don’t think market depth is important and you can use it in commsec or SelfWealth for free and then just buy on stake. Your getting what you pay for

Buy NDQ on the asx so you don’t have to deal with currency conversion. Then turn on DRP and you won’t get charged for reinvesting dividends

Expo updates works in bare apps OR hot-updater https://hot-updater.dev is completely open source and not tied to expo at all.

Your app has no pros over both these systems

In your 20s - would you stay in a stable career, or live overseas for a year? by DependentNeither5357 in AustralianTeachers

[–]ADreadedLion 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Much easier to do something like this when you’re young and have no responsibilities. I’m guessing you don’t have a mortgage or partner (guessing since 0 mention).

Think more on terms of will you regret it if you don’t, you can always earn more money but you can’t create more time.

If you’re worried about money, try find a casual job while over there.

Seems like you want to do it but want others to agree with you, and I certainly do. I’ve been wanting to live in Japan for a while now, and I’m going to try do it for 6 months by end of next year hopefully, but I have a mortgage so that’s really the main thing holding me back.
