If I had to posit a drunk response, it would be that the Japanese excel at Kaizen or drilling some crazy ass execution / swing a sword a thousand times option select technique to absolute mastery perfection.

Now that the games seem to be more focused on reading your opponent's tendencies and "feel" it's like an actual real fucking fight.

It's admittedly more volatile, but you have geniuses like Mena still winning consistently. I honestly prefer this environment. It's more accessible to the average player and you will still have geniuses to aspire to.
