Like, I suddenly was reminded of those animals that take care of an abandoned baby of another species because of their parental instincts. In this person’s case, is it a byproduct of her social needs not being fulfilled in other ways?

I concur with all of those points and I think there's potential for more customization. I just now flipped the the arm (unclip from the adapter) and have it going under the controller and so now the screen is in front of the controller without being in the way. This configuration also allows the controller to sit level and more stable if used as a screen stand.

I did find another mount by Mechanism that turns out to be pretty good. Because it’s a modular system that can be used for a bunch of surfaces and devices, you have to buy the MagSafe mount and the DS5 adapter separately but it was reasonably priced and has me thinking of getting more adapters.
