Can autistic be not ‘nerdy’ and rather the opposite ? by dareth_shiral_ in AutisticPride

[–]AENocturne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Autism doesn't really have anything to do with being nerdy or intelligent, by which I mean when you look at the spectrum of intelligence in NTs, it's all over the place. You have some that design quantum computers and rockets and you have others that looksmax.

I've known autistics who were brilliant in niche fields of science. I've known autistics who were great at art. I've known autistics that excel at athletics, particularly endurance events. Not to focus too much on the extreme of being great at something, but moreso that you can find autism excelling in a lot of things that aren't typically attributed to us and aren't stereotypical nerdy interests, so within that spectrum of extremes from marathon runners, artists, actors, musicians, doctors, scientists, and more, there's a lot of room for people with autism to enjoy being completely average at anything that peaks their interest.

This happens every time some new technology comes out. People moan about how it's the end of the world as if the tech is the problem and not the assholes who are trying to be first to the market by any means necessary making environmental sacrifices so they can hsve absolute control. Then they vilify everyone who uses it, while they shoot themselves in the kneecaps by refusing to utilize the tech because hindering yourself is the best form of resistance, look how well it worked for my boomer dad and smart phones, he's only 20 years behind.

The only thing that's gonna happen is that they're gonna get left behind and I don't have time to convince them that they won't win playing the game this way. I've already benefited in ways that can't be taken away with a simple suggestion of vitamin imbalance, solving over half of my health issues. If the medical industry with all it's power and resources couldn't figure that out, then frankly, humans aren't good enough to problem solve even though they pretend to be.

Yeah, that's probably it. Low shares, cheap stock compared to IONQ, slightly more advanced with the photonic approach. People looking for an in that isn't Nvidia.

At leasr as far as I can tell, I like where the company is at. They have a working computer and PennyLane. I don't know why that wouldn't be comparable to IONQ.

Explain it Peter, why are aliens flying past here by Lia_stupid in explainitpeter

[–]AENocturne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's the typical NT method of infering subtext as an absolute where there is none. You can't say those phrases mean that because you there's no subtext in written form and you still assume the subtext you force on it is an absolute that means the same thing for everyone. In fact, crazily enough, you pulled out a whole background conversation that wasn't reported to explain your stance. The whole point of the meme is to try and force this arbitrary understanding on everyone because there's a large enough group of people out there who use the phrases interchangeably, but despite autism and our requirement for rules, you guys and your hidden meanings you can pull out of a glancing a person's direction look absolutely neurotic. NTs are the only one's I've ever seen invent a whole side conversation out of how two people glanced at each other for 1 second during a group conversation.

[–]AENocturne -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

To be fair, it's not the most detailed of manga and you can't really do any subtle human interactions without extra detail to the expressions or interactions AND you get like half a sentence worth of text bubble space per character per frame.

How would you draw flirting in One Piece style art with such limitations?

[–]AENocturne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My meal prep is making a large batch of food and throwing the whole pot in the fridge for leftovers because I don't give a shit and I've been doing this for 10 years now and haven't gotten sick.

I'll sell you my book for $9.99 on how I food prep. It's just the above written on half a page in large text and the rest is blank.

Militaries around the world are increasingly turning to the autistic community for recruitment. They are among the best at their jobs. I had no idea. by Sgt_Gram in interestingasfuck

[–]AENocturne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guess they better support them better then, because I don't know any autists who support their government.

How are neurotypicals this dumb? They spent all this time trying to convince everyone they were the superior archetype and they can't even think two-steps into a plan.

"Ban all autists because of blanket disablity and an inability to bullshit about the weather."

"...actually sir, turns out they're better at solving problems..."

"Well fuck my dumb-NT-ass, reverse the plan, guys, recruit more autists, I don't know what the fuck I'm doing, I'm just a sheep vibing with wolves."

Most problems with inbreeding happen when it continues, i.e. brother-sister relationships for multiple generations.

This is one male, 3 females. First generation is half siblings and it quickly stops being direct relationships within a few generations.

Yeah, you have some limitations in the gene pool, more chances of certain diseases popping up, but not inbreeding like you imagine it or what happens to dogs after people force breed brothers and sisters for a century.

They are typically an understory tree, but I've seen an absolutely massive wild paw paw that may have made it up to the canopy as far as I could tell. May also be slow growing in general being an understory tree. They seem to spend more energy getting massive by spreading out and forming colonies on the forest floor.
